Should there be a different section for High End cues?

Hello everyone;

This is something that has been troubling me and I'm pretty sure a lot of 'US' have the same problem. There are a lot of threads where some members put some high end cues for sale and they say pm for prices , well there is nothing wrong with that.

I saw same kind of thread and I liked the cue, so i simply asked the price, well I didn't know about the cue so when the owner responded with the price my simple and exact reply was "you mean x thousand? ". Now the seller goes do you know anything about the cue and have you even heard about it? Which I feel was not called for.

So should users like me not ask for prices if they see a cue they like or should there be a separate section for those kind of cues?

was the seller in the US? have you seen any prices on az in anything other than us dollars? i guess i don't understand why you would even ask that question unless you were being sarcastic. i take it you thought the price was high? i have seen non-high end cues where the prices were not listed.

No I was not sarcastic at all he answer its x000 so I just asked you mean x thousand? thats it.
 
I can't say I agree or disagree with them not posting prices but I do think your comment could have came across to be a little smart ass / rude. Some of these guys are literally spending their life savings on these cues and look at them as investments.

I don't think there should be a separate area for high end cues though. I always just go by, "if you have to ask you can't afford it". :)

Maybe by this ,,people would think you not know much about high-end cues and maybe you were going to get a bit of education about high-end cues but maybe you just not like to learn or listen,,
also ,,before you try to buy any cue maybe you do some research or get advice from a guy like me who know cues very well

I don't get how the seller's question to you is uncalled for? He asked if you knew anything about the cue, how could he know you didn't (which you state in the thread - which he couldn't have read at the time) without asking?

Kevin ,,is was me i was the seller,,i was try to offer my adice,,so i know he does not know much about high-end cues,because i check his profile before i replyed to him,,,,it is ok,,he will be ok i am sure,,

Hey Kevin,
I am very good Doing awesome ,,been back on about 2 weeks not posting alot ,,take a look in the galley ,,and wanted for sale ,,trying to move some wood,,guy like this is reason i have been away ,, they try to tell me how to talk and how to sell and they no nothing much about anything,,sorry to say,,Maybe some of these guys on here should call me and get some advice and learn a bit of something before the do anything,,i am bit sick of this Blaaa blaa blaa waste of time talk,,

Give me a call anytime ,,hope you are good also,

I don't see what either of you did wrong. If it turns out the cue is more money than you want to spend why not move on rather than trying to fix some non-existent "problem" on the forum?

I am well, thanks. I will call and I've seen some of the big wood you have been trotting out. Like usual, very impressive.

And you are missed when you aren't here so you should (please) just wade through this muck. I saw a post the other day asking why more pro players don't post here and it made me remember a bunch of C player wannabees telling The Keith what he should do and how he should be, and, well, that's the internet.

Everyone sells on their own way.
My personal opinion is that every cue being sold in the "wanted/For Sale" section of AZ Billiards should have the following;

1. Asking Price clearly posted (if you want to auction off a cue take it to Ebay)
2. Cue Specs. such as weights, measurements, general condition
3. At least 3 good quality photos.

In addition anyone selling more then 1 cue, case, etc......... per year should show their support for AZ Billiards and become a "Club Member"

The problem with that is (not that I personally have a problem with it, I sell in a very transparent fashion, but that's just me) that many of the people that actually do end up purchasing very high end cues (lets say $7,000 and above), don't want the price they paid for their items plastered all over the internet, so many sellers, in respect to the buyers they are trying to attract, don't post the prices. Same reason for pictures in many cases. Lots of high end buyers want what they consider to be private business to be kept private, and if many of the people who actually buy those items feel that way, you as a seller (if you are smart) tend to try to cater to your buyers.

Don't get me wrong, I seldom venture into the over $7K area as a buyer or a seller and when I do its in an extremely transparent fashion. And, as a curious guy, I'd like to know how much stuff is too, what is available, what its worth, what people are asking, who's buying. However, that interest is just curiosity, not buying interest.

Now a guy posting a standard Schon and saying PM for price, is just shooting himself in the foot, so it depends on what market you are in and what buyers you need to attract and cater to.
