Well, it's been five months and I’m proud to say my DVD, “Mastering The Jump Shot," is ready to be shipped! Thank you for all the pre-orders! You helped me stay on target.

One of the main things I focused on was to get the DVD user-friendly. Until I could use it easily, it was a "no go.". "Mastering The Jump Shot" is organized into chapters. Once you watch the whole DVD, you will find it’s easy to go back and review the areas in which you may be having specific problems.

"Mastering The Jump Shot" has it all. I will teach you how to jump balls in addition to sharing highlights and photos from my 20 year career. The many friendships I have made and my love for the game has lasted a lifetime. I hope you enjoy watching & learning from "Mastering The Jump Shot" as much as I have enjoyed putting it together!

Sooooooooooooooooo....what are you waiting for? Start jumpin’!

A big thank you to Mary Kenniston for her excellent writing skills, she takes what I type and turns it into a work of art...you missed your calling Mary...Thanks for all you help! Go to www.robindodson.com if you'd like to order now. I hope to have it in all the stores and magazines ASAP...

Archery hunters ,in many states, have to prove their proficient with the bow prior to getting a license. Strike a deal with the pool leagues,bca-apa
... Players cant jump until they are approved !
I am sick of watching players "trying" jump shots.Plenty of good players
are guilty of the same.
Good luck with your sales,Jack

Please don't take this as a criticism but, why do you concentrate so much of your time with the jump shot? I know you have endorsed a couple of jump cues but have you done any videos on general instructions? There are a zillion instruction tapes out there already but maybe something with a niche market like geared toward women for example or "Billiards for young people". Or maybe "How to teach your children to play pool". I know I get that question all the time, how do I teach my son to play. Not everyone wants really formal instructions for their kids but would like to teach them themselves. Just curious there seems to me there are a few markets that have not been explored.

Actually I never thought I would be doing a DVD of any kind. But my choice of doing a Jump Shot DVD is because of all the years I've been teaching the shot (and learning about the shot). I believe I'm an expert and I have a LOT of knowledge about it. I can't say I'm the best jumper but I will say....I can for sure teach it!
There are many expert players teaching different parts of pool..I will leave that to them (I can't compete).
What started out to be an added bonus to my jump cue sales by adding a DVD (my idea was NOTHING compared to what happened) to the sale,
grew when my husband took on the project.
And one last thought, I cannot begin to tell you how many players have come to my booth with jump cues in their case and have NO CLUE how to use it. That's where I come in, years ago I would test to see first if theirs worked....if it did I would tell them...if it didn't I would show them.
Now a days all jump cues work great, its the player....they need a teacher..... I believe I'm that teacher. Mastering the Jump Shot is simple (I'm simple) but the info....WINS matches!!! I know, I won my share because of it.

"Mastering the Jump Shot" is a DVD that took on a life of its own. I realized this should be for everyone that wants to jump, every jump cue not just mine....the information I have learned over the years is for every player, every jump cue.

Anyway that's what happened, I would like maybe down the road, make a DVD for Nehemiah's players I'd like to teach the christians that come from churches all over OC. I think that would be way cool!

Is there anything on full cue jumps? Anything on rail jumps? Good luck
with your sales,Jack

Nothing on full cue jumps, sorry...I did talk with Ned about that it really depends on the cue. Not all playing cues will jump, mine sure never did.
As for rail jumps are you saying when the cue ball is on the rail?

Hey MacGuy there are plenty of people who cant play with a jump stick-
maybe this dvd will help them.Learning better ,or any, fundamentals
towards a repeatable stroke, and position play will have to come later!

Good point, the best thing about my game.... my stroke....and it is filtered all through "Mastering the Jump Shot" . Without a stroke a player will have a tough time jumping too.
2 things are needed for me to teach, speed and follow through. After that your all mine!!!

Good, she has done that, now what? You can't be a one trick pony forever. I was wondering if she had anything else in the works and was shocked to read her reply. Apparently she feels after all these years she has nothing else to offer, I got the feeling she took offense that I suggest she did.

No not at all, I do teach but I’m not impressed with my teaching skills.
My students do keep signing up and honestly I'm shocked.
So I don't feel at all qualified to make a video on pool when there are so many great ones already available.
But when it comes to the jump shot, I had to learn I'd seen so many players doing it wrong at my booth. I needed to make adjustments for them and they started jumping (and thus the sale)...I guess it all boils down to confidence.
I'm totally a one trick pony....but I ride it well!!! :)

I refuse to believe that and I do hope I did not offend you in any way. I would never pretend to tell someone how they should live their life.

Well thank you :)

DVD's: I just picked them up...had to review it one more time :( :) mixed feelings, I've watched it soooooooooooooooooo many times...but this time opening it...looking at the DVD ................. totally cool!!!

I'm not completely crazy about the packaging....I think it could have been better....next order I will shop around. I think it could have been brighter :(

But when I watched it...my smile came back....anyway I think I have lots of good stuff for you.

Let me know what you think....ok, ok, ok I'm going to pack right now.

I have lots of signing to do first...YIKES it feels like the olden days when we had to sign 200 autograph posters for the WPBA...well a little different...for this, I'm making money :) :) :)

Robin, don't sell yourself short. ;)

I spent 20 minutes with you in your Las Vegas booth last year and as a result of that, I can now consistently roll a ball frozen to the rail 3/4 of the way down the table using a few simple things I remember you saying to me.

Your advice is simple and precise, and you have SO MUCH to offer. There are '99 Critical Shots' in pool, tee hee, and you could do a video on them all. Let the curmudgeons grumble....there's a few out there who are never happy.

You rock! Ordering today!

Just got it, Robin, haven't watched yet, but wanted to thank you for the great service and taking the time to sign the cover. I'm sure I'll learn something, my jumpshot really sucks. Thanks!
:p

Thank you :) glad I could help. And thank you for your order let me know what you think.

I got my DVD yesterday and have watched it twice. Picked up a couple of tips that make the DVD worth every penny I paid for it. Thank you Robin excellent job

Jumping balls with regular cue is hard and needs mastering, but in my opinion jumping balls with shorty is so easy, you can literally be bad playing pool, and can jump and pocket a ball with a shorty, the first time I used short stick to jump , I was so close pocketing the ball, the second time I made the ball.

if you ask me I really hate the short stick, you can hook up your opponent good and only to see him jump and make the ball with a short stick effortlessly
