Boy, it's been a LONG time since our world has had this type of support from within and beyond the industry at the same time, good job to whomever was instrumental in bringing these two different business into the mix.

I might be wrong, but I think the Pepsi deal is with the Behrman's to sponsor the US Open 9-Ball and most likely a regional distributorship, not nationally. But this is still fantastic. Berry and Shannon are to be congratulated for thier hard work and efforts!

This is exactly right, which is why I suggested, in the other thread, that it would have more impact to send thankyou's to the local bottler in VA, than to send them to PepsiCo HQ. It's quite possible that the company has no knowledge of the deal with Behrmann. With enough influence from the local PepsiCo people, HQ might be more interested in doing something nationally.

Can we get clarification on whether its the national or regional bottler for Pepsi that is a sponsor for this year's US Open 9-Ball tournament?

In the context of this agreement that the BCA secured for their members from Coca Cola, I hate to see poolrooms across the country serving Coke boycotted by well meaning customers. On the otherhand, if the sponsorship is from PepsiCo Inc (parent company), maybe they'll take notice and offer BCA members a competing deal.

2 things....

Pepsi Corporate knows about it now with the emails coming in... and in the end the money came from corporate even if it was channeled by the local distributor as part of their advertising and promo budget....

The Coke and the BCA deal sounds more like a revenue stream for the BCA... They get Coke into the pool rooms albeit at a discounted rate and in return they likely get something on the back end...... Good for the pool rooms... good for the BCA... good for Coke.... absolutely zero impact on pool as a professional sport.....

I have 2 2litres of Coke in the fridge.... Pepsi will replace them when they are gone....

Is there a link available for the local bottler?

Correct in that on a national level, Pepsico might not be aware of what the local bottler is doing by way of sponsorships and donations but if we bring it
to their attention, it may go a long way for others to follow in their foot steps. Others may want to jump on board considering that Coke is helping the BCA.

I doubt anyone is going to boycott their local pool room for not serving Pepsi. If the Coke deal is good for room owners I'm all for it. But I'm a fan of the pro game and it needs all the help it can get right now so any sponsorship such as Pepsi's will be supported by me.

I will be buying Pepsi products for the house now. Before it was whichever was on sale. I still only buy soft drinks on sale but when Pepsi is I'll stock up.
