CA$H Cues - Tommy's Contact Info

Wow, sad to hear of this. The deals I had with him were flawless. Hopefully there is a straighforward explanation that makes sense. If anyone hears anything, please let me know.

there has to be more to this

No doubt that there are some unhappy people right now, and absolutely no doubt that there's no excuse for Tommy not picking up the phone to talk to people to deal with it and let people know what's going on. He has never been shy here about calling people out for BS business practices, and so he should know better than others how wrong this is.
I also have had several flawless deals with him, one of which involved serious money, and I know that my opinion of him was also enhanced by the CA$H cues that he donated whenever a certain number of the other cues were sold.
I had a conversation with him in Spring 2010 when there had been severe flooding in his area, and he told me that he had lost a lot of stock and other components, including some LD shafts I had sent to him to be installed on another custom cue he was building for me at the time. He called me to tell me that he wouldn't be able to produce it and that the shafts I sent were destroyed, but he then made it right and worked to get the situation resolved.
I hope that there's a good explanation for this, I think the people who are hurting right now are feeling it twice as much because Tommy always seemed to be a stand up guy who demanded the best from others and seemed to deliver it himself.
There has to be more to this.....

I always thought very highly of Tommy, had nothing but A1 transactions with him, and am really sorry to hear all these bad things going on.
I left a message a few weeks ago at the # I had for him, just wanting to know if he was ok. He doesn't owe me any money, but I'd been waiting for another Cash LD shaft.
Very sad.

When I first joined AZ, I ordered a cue from a member with many successful transactions. (SouthPaw) Based on his history, it seemed like a fairly safe deal. I sent him a money order assuming that he would be sending me a cue soon. I never got the cue, and chalked it up to a lesson learned: Don't buy stuff online from strangers.

After seeing Tommy's sterling reputation and dealings on this site, I was strongly considering a Ca$h ferrule-less LD shaft. It looks like I've just had my initial lesson reaffirmed very strongly.

He was one of the few guys that I actually considered worthy of trust. He was constantly preaching ethics, morals, and character in NPR to anyone who would listen.

If he isn't dead or in a hospital somewhere, Tommy just became the biggest hypocrite in the world.

A few years ago, I bought a MasonH cue from Tommy(Hangemhigh) . The deal was flawless. In the thread he made it seem like he was close to Mason: "Just in time for Christmas, no waiting, instant gratification. The nicest MasonH cue out of the current batch.... Cue was test hit by Mason and by me this morning." Maybe Mason knows him, or used to? I don't know Mason, if someone does maybe they could ask him.

I was also told several years ago that Tommy and Sam Engles were one in the same.

I also heard the same thing a long time ago. Never gave it much thought because I didn't really care. His cases were pretty good. I wondered why he stopped making something that he had developed a good reputation with.

Must be that he couldn't stand success. That seems the only logical explanation.

"Hello, you have reached USA Prime Credit. My name is Peggy"

LOL Sorry for the funny, couldn't resist. Something about this thread reminds me of those commercials. I hope all is well with Tommy. Could be illness or family issues. Lord knows I have experienced it & it knocked my communication down for a while. Can't always assume the worst.

Absolutely true and whoever he is up until a few months ago he handled his business on AZB just fine. I bought an Engles case from him and it came in with no fuss.

Unfortunately with the falling out with Jess and Tommy of World Class Cues it seems as if the signs point to default on the money taken in rather than catastrophe.

I live in Korea. So, taking legal action would be troublesome at best. I wouldn't even know where to start. I have a few pictures of the cue, but not many. I suppose I could get Sly to put together some kind of letter for me about the cue.

Anybody have thoughts on this?

r,

Greg

I agree. I'm just taking a page from your book & playing devil's advocate  Hope you're doing well.

Hangemhigh

I bought an OB blank from Tommy about a year ago. Ironically, the shaft was sent to Dave Sutton who then stole my deposit money and OB blank.
Ahh.. the joys of dealing with AZ. For the record, my transaction with Tommy was flawless.

Anyway.. in conjunction with what Tony Zinzola said, the name on the paypal was to Tucker Hindman (verified). The email was ozrok@aol.com

Zabasearch for Violet Hindman:

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Lol, what makes you think I am playing. ;-)

The last guy I stood up for owes me three cases after I bailed out some of his orders. I really don't know the answer here as it seems as if this happens several times a year.

I can not understand why people misrepresent themselves as the maker or so close to the maker as to practically be the maker. This just causes issues almost always to have an extra layer between the customer and the maker that is not clearly defined.

I am doing ok but suffering my own shop organization road bumps. Once sorted we will be sailing fairly smoothly.

I just really wonder what the number would be if we counted all the money that people have lost by paying and never getting their product over the past four years. I have had to refund several time for not delivering on time but I have always promptly, or within a week if not enough in paypal when asked. But to simply take a lot of money and disappear is tough pill to swallow.

I am too addicted to azb to ever consider taking the money and running.

:-)

I used to process about 200,000 in credit card transactions a year. I had all the information I needed to charge them at any time. I had often thought about all the businesses like mine and the temptations to just charge a boatload of money and escape. Not that is is what is happening here. I think Tommy was trying to do good business and he did do good business. With the exception of charging $75 for the Fellini style locks which I thought was a bit out of line.

Something radical changed and it is too bad. It is just very depressing to see one of these threads every couple weeks.

Well, it is a reminder to me to get off here and back to work.

Hope this finds a positive resolution.

Engles

Wolfbite.com has a picture of Mr. Engles. Can someone shoot this image over to World Class Cues and see if it's the same guy?

I have no clue what the real deal is,but here's what I can add.

Whoever was told that the shop flooded over a year ago was lied to. The severe rains here in Tn that may or may not have caused the shop to flood were this past late April/early May.

Someone told me that they called the shop looking for him and Bill McDaniel answered the phone .

I called twice without even asking who was there and wasn't,and both times was told it would be like 2 weeks before they were up and running enough to do a linen rewrap for me,which was done badly the last time I had it done there, and whoever it was on the phone told me both times that a simple linen rewrap was 75.00.

I wound up borrowing a Deluxe and rewrapped it myself.

The pics shown here do not show the person that rewrapped my cue badly. Tommy D.
