CA$H Cues - Tommy's Contact Info

You guys understand he hasn't shown up here in over 2 months now...right?

There is nothing to indicate he has other alias here either.

I believe that is the whole point of the thread. He is missing in action with a lot of people's money. And yet he still posts or is active on other boards, like JimboWorld and Ebay. He is obviously smart enough not to log in here because he has seen these type of threads play out many times with everyone getting in an using all available means to track his account.

Correct, but when someone contacts me asking for their account to be "locked"...whatever that means to them to preserve evidence..I have to question "evidence" of what?

To my knowledge, there is no proof of wrong doing aside from his vanishing, so what exactly would I be preserving?

Apparently some people feel that Hangemhigh represented himself as the maker of the cues. So they sent deposits to him in good faith. Now it turns out that not only was he not the maker but the deposits sent in never made it to the actual cue makers. Then there is the question of WHO hangemhigh is? Is it Tommy Stanfill, Tommy Hindeman, Sam Engles?

So maybe upon investigation certain posts or certain threads could be useful for people victimized by this person.

The real point is that AZB is the platform used to trade and you are one of the gatekeepers. So when these situations come up it would be very nice to try to help the victims however possible. Clearly AZB is not responsible but you have the power to not allow the perpretrators to erase evidence and cover their tracks.

What locking an account means to me is banning a person so that they cannot edit posts. I think that if one is accused of fraud then at the least they should be sent an email to the email address you have on file and be given a fair shot at answering the charges. If they fail to that then the account should be banned or simply locked if you can do that.

There seems to be no consistent reason why you ban some people and not others, delete or remove some threads and not others. So it is very difficult for the regular users to know what the "rules" are and how they can helped when they are defrauded by other users. Like it or not this community thrives mostly on trust and you don't really seem to care about making it safer for the "good" people.

Now AZB has 33,000 members. Most of them inactive I am sure. But still that's a decent number of people who are actively using this site as their daily connection to the pool world. Most of the time transactions go fine but once in a while something goes really bad and it seems as if you are not eager to help when it does.

Tap Tap Tap!!!!! Good post John!!!!

If people would follow my simple advice and use escrow, there wouldn't ever be an issue like this.
You seem to think that maybe I should invest time and effort sorting out who is really a "good" guy from the "bad" guys? Really, you'd like me that much more involved with everyone's private details ( for free ) and spend my time doing so?

Doesn't sound like a bargain from here.

If people won't use my advice and hire escrow, what makes you think they'd be more inclined to let me pick and chose in their personal affairs later down the road?

We have all sorts of rules.
There are people who are out money and the holder is missing.

Help me out here....what rule should we enforce?

Oh, ok...just ban anyone who doesn't pay upon some makeshift timeline? That'll help.

Good point. Fair point.

Maybe you should make a rule. Maybe defrauding others should be a bannable offense. Maybe when plenty of people step forward and declare that they are not getting any response from the seller then it's enough for you as the moderator to step in and demand that the seller either respond or get banned.

We have rules about insulting and harassing other members that are sporadically enforced. I consider it a bigger insult to take someone's money and disappear.

It's up to you what you want to do. You have made it clear that you follow no one's suggestions and that you will do things as you please. The fact that you have no consideration for the members as the driving force of this forum has been made abundantly clear by you publicly many times.

You are a volunteer moderator and apparently indispensable to some degree. As such I don't envy you your position. You do deal with a lot of crap for free. But you fail to understand that this is a community. While you are busy writing tickets for the "parking" violations you choose to notice some people are using this site to willfully steal from others and when the community complains you run to the donut shop and say it's none of your business.

So what rules should you enforce? How about the ones that say we should deal with each other respectfully? Stealing thousands of dollars and running away from the site when you are active in other places on the net is the epitome of disrespect. At the very least you could be a bit more sensitive to the plight of the victims rather than simply throwing "you should have used" escrow into their faces.

In my opinion that is. Were it me and my website then I would shift the moderation burden to more volunteers or if possible make it a paid position with clear rules of how to go about it. But it's not my site and I am here because the bulk of my online pool community is here. Should they decide to move then I will move with them and deal with whatever the moderation climate is in the new place.

John,

You made some EXCELLENT points, BUT, they should be directed to Mike and perhaps, Jerry.

Without their support Dave, or any mod, is hamstrung.

Take care, a

John, do you really, really believe that someone who is here with intent to steal from trusting people is sooooo worried about being banned?

Hmmm, maybe they'll pop right back up as so many others and I can ban them again. That would make it all better, right?

Maybe if I ban them 3 or 4 times maybe then I'll teach them!

Wow.

Epiphany.

As far as I know, there really is no way to 'lock' a user. Banning them would stop them from being able to login and post anything, but I guess I am holding out hope that Hangem would still log in and try to make this stuff right.

If he has the ability to edit or delete posts with a trail, then I would ban him just to make sure that everything stayed put. But since he can't do that, I think we are ok without banning him.

Again, I am interested in solutions to the larger problem here. How do we make sure that users deals go through ok? I know that I have personally been a middle man on a couple of deals, but I don't want that responsibilty for everyone.

Mike

I think that it was clear that my points were directed at Mike and Jerry :-)

Like I said Dave, it's not my playground. Maybe there should be a moderator or moderators who are ONLY responsible for the wanted and for sale section who can make the decisions regarding transaction disputes.

When it comes to that section it's much harder to come back and continue scamming because each person only has access to certain products and thus they produce a pattern that's easy to figure out. Since you guys won't allow the community to police itself they are required to depend on your benevolence.

However if there were say three highly respected members whose reputation is beyond reproach then they could be more proactive in weeding out the members who are not quite able to do business the right way. That may not stop people from getting burned but it would be a bigger deterrent.

Many suggestions have been put forth as to how to clean up the WFS section - almost none of them have been implemented.

Personally, I don't think you are the man for the job. I think that you shoulder a lot of responsibility and as you remind us it's an unpaid position. I think that you should not be involved in transaction disputes at all and should be completely freed from dealing with the WFS section. That section requires more than one person to weigh the disputes and render actions. You have made it clear that you do allow your personal biases to influence how you govern. Which is only human after all. But the fact of it is that each day tens of thousands of dollars run through AZB's WFS section. Having you as the primary moderator for that is not at all enough to keep it clean, from both a personal perspective and from a workload angle.

You are completely missing the point and I already explained it to you once. But, I'll explain it too you yet again so maybe this time you can understand it. Here, in as simple English as I can. I wanted his account locked so he couldn't delete posts!! Jesus Christ, is that so hard to understand? But no worries, AZhousepro cleared up the issue for me. All you basically did was say I'm making crazy claims against someone and you wouldn't help. So, No problem.

In the end I didn't Ned anything from you again. Please just quit trying to defend yourself on my thread when you aren't even arguing the right point in the first place.

R,

Greg

And unfortunately on my deal, there wouldnt have been a way to use any kind of escrow services as no money was involved.... Just a cue and a promise of payment after completion of the work.

I'm not trying to be rude. I just don't like people arguing on my thread and me still sitting here without my clue or any kind of solution. I have 40 cues or so and unfortunately, this douche bag now has my favorite one.

Yes, I'm pissed

Thank you. I appreciate your explanation of the situation and helping to reassure me that any potential evidence that might be used for legal action will still be intact.

Greg

I think that in order to complete a transaction on this forum you should HAVE to be a paid forum member. That way there is a record of who you are and your identity via credit card. I think it would make things harder to rip people off. Also there is a way to ban prepaid visa cards. I know this for a fact.

Also for the record I have had a few flawless deals with Tommy aka hangemhigh. He is/was a truck driver. So he is all over the country. I also had a face to face meeting with him. He is not a young man like in the pic in front of the lathe. The pic earlier of the older man is what he looked like from my memory. I have also talked to him numerous times on the phone.

Coincidentally our face to face deal was for a new nicely tooled Sam engles 1x2 case.

Kinda makes sense saying Tommy is Sam. Interesting. Some do jump to conclusions a little fast around here.

Here's Tommy's number call the man and ask him yourselves 731-394-6479. You're welcome.

Tried calling this number. Got the...."this number is not accepting calls at this time, please try your call again later."

Figures.
