Grand Rapids Dairy Company
(Grand Rapids Herald, Monday, August 6, 1917)

The Grand Rapids Dairy company’s plant will be in operation in 60 days unless the plans of Superintendent L. A. Powell miscarry.

All the preliminaries for the construction of the most modern creamery in Michigan have been perfected and construction will begin this week.

The plant will be located at 305-321 Scribner avenue, N. W., and will be 70.6 ft by 97.4 feet in dimensions, two stories high and of brick and cement.

On the first floor will be located the pasteurization, bottling and sales rooms. All partitions will be of glass. The floors of the pasteurization and bottling rooms will be terraza. The walls will be of glazed brick and the ceilings will be washable.

Offices will be located at the front of the building on the second floor. A balcony will be installed from which can be seen, through glass partitions, just how the work of preparing the milk for delivery is done.

The company will manufacture a brand of creamery butter, bearing a registered name. The capacity of the pasteurization department will be 12,000 pounds of milk per hour. The bottled milk will have a registered cap and will bear the day of the week the milk was bottled
 
His record is currently 0-122 when his friends bet him who can pick up a penny at the bottom of the pool the quickest.
