Yes, but, you'd have to admit "Stan the Man" is generally recognized to be Musial. I was introduced at a US Open one year as "St. Louie Louie" and I corrected the TD saying, "No. That one's been taken."

Personally I think your use of the moniker is a little preposterous, but that's just me.

Lou Figueroa

What's preposterous is how you give a shit enough to say something in a thread made to pump up one of our own who's still in the tournament. "THE MAN" is the MOST WIDELY USED SPORTS NAMES IN THE HISTORY OF THE KNOWN UNIVERSE.

Go shit in someone else's ice cream >>>>> ;-)

There's more to it than pumping one of our own up, as you and Joey like to keep making a point of ;-)

Pro1 is Stan Shuffett's SIGNATURE AIMING SYSTEM and he is trying to make a living teaching pool. People like you should just eat the crow and shut up.

Quit your hating and let people have a little fun.

Stan deserves a round of applause for his Open performance. Let's not make this about Pro 1 or CTE because I'm guessing, if it goes thataway, the only thing that's going to happen is that the great showing by Stan is going to get buried under the usual pile of dog do-do.

Way to go, Stan.

He's a buddy of Stan's, isn't he?

Lou Figueroa

Looks like it.

From his website:

Burford made the first two Pro Cup finals in the GB 9 Ball Tour's inaugural year but fell at the final hurdle on both occasions. The ability that first pointed to him being Britain's great, young hope looks to be back. “I've got to thank Stan Shuffet, who's my girlfriend's father and a great pool coach, he's showed me certain aiming systems, he has replanned my game. He was watching from over in the States on Cuesport TV so I hope I put on a good show for him”.

Oh no...will we ever hear the end of this???

If he was working for you he probably had been issued his aluminum foil cap and decoder ring.

Lou Figueroa

Not entirely true not all were bright, but there is not one champion pool player that I have met that is slow. Sorry man, but 100% of the ones I have met have unusually high IQ's, to the point of being very strange. Some are even genius, and the fact you think they are not proves it to me even more. I would go out on a limb, and say 50 of the top 100 players could go to Harvard and get a 4.0. Not to mention their extremely gifted hand eye coordination. Is that not genius in itself?

You finale offended me Lou...lol My aluminum cap, and decoder ring set doesn't work either John..

Hi Lou,
You know your sports history...Stan Shuffett is named after Stan Musial. Dr. Shuffett, Stan's dad, is a huge sports fan and he named his three sons after baseball players. So in effect, Stan Shuffett can be called "Stan the Man".

Thanks to all those gracious enough to give compliments to someone very deserving.

The only one laying the dog do-do is YOU, Lou. The thread is about STAN but somehow every thread about STAN, you try to make it about YOU.

How far did YOU get in the tournament, LOU?

Let's all stop talking about Stan and let's all focus on LOU. Time out, everyone. LOU wants attention. LOU can't stand it when people are pumping Stan up. BIG DEAL if I linked to Stan's site. Dr. Dave links to his stuff every day without you "burying him under do-do."

If you'd so much as show an ounce of class in STAN'S (not YOUR) thread, there'd be ZERO do-do.

If Stan wears an aluminum hat, YOUR hat prob looks like this:

Now, keep posting and let's keep making this thread about YOU.

Good to see you posting Mrs. Shuffett. I am glad to know Stan and congratulate both him and Phil for playing great.

Well, most of the guys I've met in the pool world do have a certain native intelligence. And some have graduated from fine colleges. But a 4.0 at Harvard...

ah, very cool -- didn't know that about Stan.

And you're welcome about the compliment to Stan. I think his performance at The Open has been great.

No, you started this to stir up shit. Plain and simple.

You also discredited Stan's true skill by implying that it is only his aiming system that has gotten him this far.

At the level of talent there, placing so well goes way beyond any aiming system used. That level of play is all between the ears.

To keep up that level of play over a period of time goes way beyond any aiming systems used. That is determination not a aiming system.

It's not the aiming system used, but how you use what you got.

Some just, like you , can't get over the fact that some find CTE/PRO 1 useless.

Let's get this thread back on track..

Congrats Stan on a super strong showing at this year US Open..!!!! Nuf Said!!

I have notice since ive been here, and i have been here for a long time(5 years or more just reading without posting)almost every thread there will be atlease 1 azer that will be negative no matter what, who really cares that the nic name THE MAN is already taken,we got an older man here doing what each and everyone of us wish we could do,go very deep in the US OPEN,and some of u r going to cry about using a nic name for this competitor,go cry else where,i bet if it was 1 of u guys doing what STAN is doing it would b different, wouldnt it!KEEP HITTING THEM STRAIGHT ,STAN THE MAN,now dont nobody get comfused, iam talking pool not baseball, this is az billiards after all!

I didn't imply anything, you're inferring incorrectly. I simply linked to his video if anyone wanted to check it out. Not unlike, I might add, some "other" forum regulars who do so on a daily basis. Ask Stan his thoughts on the topic.
