SVB Signed With DP and Yalin Tables

I see where Shane signed with them Yalin Tables. Congrats...I guess. Wonder if his days at Cuetec are coming to an end? I know when AF signed with CW and Star tables her sponsership came to an end. Johnnyt

I wonder- if I bought one of those great Yalin tables could I get a package deal where I get a copy of that great new aiming system he's endorsing?

You must be thinking about someone else because Shane isn't endorsing any aiming system. He mentioned on a stream once that he uses his ferrule to aim but was interrupted before he could elaborate.

You could send him a message though through here or facebook and ask him about it.

Since Shane is one of the few Americans who goes to every big event in China and the Phillipines it's fair to say he has probably played on Yalin tables a bunch.

Yalin and Star are the two biggest table makers in China and Yalin is trying to toss out sponsorships like candy a'la PartyPoker. I don't know what the deals are worth, knowing China it could be low or it could be high.

One thing is that when in China they are VERY PICKY about not wanting their sponsored players to play on other brand tables. Xiao Ting Pan is NOT allowed to do any exhibition in a pool room that does not have Star tables. Karen Corr was roundly chastised for having her picture taken with a fan where there was another table manufacturer's booth in the background.

Fury sponsors Xiao Ting and they offered to buy, transport and set up Star tables for Pan to play on for a planned exhibition tour around China and Star said no.

John, why would Star say no if they are sponsoring her and on top of that her cue sponsor was willing to foot the bill? Not expecting you to know the actual answer but just thought maybe I'm missing something because this doesn't seem to go along with the point you were making about restricting use of a competitor's product. Does Fury have a line of tables or something?

You're right. It was Daren Appleton who's endorsing the SEE system. No package deal then, I guess.

That is exactly the question that Fury wanted to have answered. I guess you would have to understand the Chinese mentality for CONTROL to understand it. The contract between Star and Xiao Ting forbids here from appearing in exhibition in ANY club that is not a Star Tables club. Apparently they also own their own chain of pool rooms.

So she is not allowed to perform exhibition matches on other table brands nor is she allowed to perform exhibitions on Star tables in other pool rooms.

I assume that Star would possibly make exceptions to that in rooms where all the tables are Star brand and there is a strong business affiliation.

But for this one they said no way. Even though they would have gotten a lot of free press with tons of photos of Xiao Ting playing on Star tables. Over here Xiao Ting is a minor celebrity and she does draw the press from all media.

Really dumb decision on Star's part from my vantage point. Really disappointing for Fury as well as they had to do the tour without Xiao Ting.

Shane certainly has played on Yalin tables - in the World 8 Ball Championships.

The Knight Shot tables used in this event are Yalin tables rebranded for the Middle East market. They are excellent tables that have never attracted criticism from any player since the event started.

They sponsor last years world snooker champion Neil Robertson and a plethora of pool players including European Mosconi Cup stars Darren Appleton and Chris Melling.

Their deals are not for peanuts either.

But I have told Shane before that he is an American icon and unless he gets an offer of some substance it is devaluing the whole American game. He should not be following the example of Earl at his peak who asked too little for a man of his status.

This cheapened the whole game and not just in the USA.
