I think it got subsumed in the For Sale forum. The funny thing is there is someone else running an instructional for sale thread on the front page. Makes one wonder why, if your thread was moved, theirs has not.

just sayin'
I personally like it when new products are announced on the Main Forum. I never visit any of the other forums. This is where I come for my information, and I like to know when new instructional materials become available. For example, I was happy to learn about Stan's DVD, Nathan's DVDs, Gene's DVD, Lee's new book, etc. If they weren't announced here, I might not have known about them.If you could let the mods know about the other instructional for sale thread, I'm sure the mods would be happy to move it to the For Sale forum if that's where it belongs.

Put another way: it's too bad the rules suddenly needed to be enforced after all those other guys got miles and miles of traction (read: advertisement) on the main forum. You and Bob have been long time contributors to this forum (unlike some newcomers who seem to have just showed up for the sales potential) and should have been cut some (read: a lot) of slack. They should have at least grandfathered you for a few months.

Lou, it's not like Dr. Dave hasn't been plugging VEPS for a long time, as well. Yes, this is a new collaboration with Bob, but none of this is new to the forum. Dr. Dave doesn't need to be grandfathered.
That's not to say that I want Dr. Dave's threads moved to For Sale, any more than Gene or Nathan or anyone. I like seeing information on these products. I hope the rules are applied equally for everyone.
justadub, I can see your point...maybe he should be allowed one thread like Geno's "thread that won't die." I know he's offering "free" consultation, but it's also free advertisement and an entree to get people to buy his product once he has them on the line.
Lou Figueroa
I agree. And Dr. Dave has also contributed plenty here, for "free".
And with that, I am off to my sisters, for a Thanksgiving Dinner that can't be beat. Fortunately I don't have to stop and pick up the garbage on the way, and I don't think I'll be relegated to the Group W bench, or even the kiddie table... Happy Thanksgiving, Lou. And Sean. And JB. And Dr. Dave. The whole lot of you!

Lou:
I agree 100%. Dr. Dave has put a lot of good contribution "in the bank" (read: real contribution, not coming on here for the first time for the purposes of spamming the threads). Stan has too. So has Lee, for that matter. There are others. These guys have "banked" a lot of points in their favor as no-doubt contributing members. So I agree that some exceptions should be made for obvious contributory members.
However, because of a few outright rule-breakers, as well as the trolling that AZB has been experiencing recently (side note: when is that AZB Clown Car going to depart -- can we wave it off?), methinks the readership is a little more sensitive, as well as the mods being a little more vigilant, than previously. So it's an unfortunate sign of the times.
QUESTION (which is actually a suggestion): how about the idea of posting one's product announcement in the Wanted / For Sale thread (which conforms to the rules), and then posting a "heads up" here -- in the Main forum -- with a link to that thread that lets folks know about that product announcement thread's existence, which I'm pretty sure isn't against the rules? This way, the "heads up" thread redirects the readers to that product announcement thread when they click on it, and if they want to comment, those comments go into *that* product announcement thread in the W/FS forum, instead of continually bumping the "heads up" thread in the Main forum?
This way, it serves the purpose of what Dr. Dave was talking about -- being able to discover the existence of new products, *without* all the spamming, bumping, and hoopla that goes with "should that thread be here, or shouldn't it?".
What think ye?
