Anyone got results from day 1?
Rodney lost 6-0, didnt look very good. Dechaine blew it in his doubles match with shane too.
I've read that from a lot of people here, and I wonder if I watched the same match as everyone else.
Shane scratched on the break at 4-0 USA. Shane left Dechaine on the rail in a high pressure situation, leading to the miss to bring Europe to 4-4...Everyone acts like Mike missed an easy 9 ball. That rail shot is tough for real people. Mike didn't have the luxury of playing behind a computer screen where all the shots are easy.
In rack 9, when Mike pocketed the 4 and ran into the 6, he was jacked up over a ball, which *can* impede stroke power...Guess who left him jacked up?
If anything, Shane's lack of cueball control cost them that match.

It was over before it started. Europe is a much more steady team. Very solid. I feel bad for Shane having to play on that team.
Shane is my favorite player. But right now he looks like one of the weakest players on the team. He had multiple chances to cash in and with the doubles match with Mike and his singles match. He just looks disinterested at times. I feel like maybe Shane is meant to play on his own. Maybe he just doesnt play well in a team game.
Shane played great in previous years, who knows, I will still take Shane over any of the American team members as a person and a player.

Looks simple enough from over here, doesn't it?
Meanwhile, in real life, every player here has missed that shot, and will miss it again in the future...
It's amazing what two inches of bounce off the rail will do to improve consistency on that one.
Not trying to be nitpicky, I'm just saying that it wouldn't have been as difficult for Shane to bounce off the rail as it was for Mike to make the shot on the 9. I think we all understand that if Mike could have cued the ball better he would NEVER have missed; being on the rail brings it down to maybe 95%.
I agree he is the best player....outside of the Mosconi Cup. His record is not that great there. I dont know what it is, just seems like hes not into it. Archer by far played the best today. I expect to see a heavy dose of him tomorrow. This is far from over. USA just needs to get their sh$t together and stop leaving wins on the hanging on the table.
