Video of Rodney Getting Pissed Off at Mosconi Cup

well hell yeah !!

The refs should have stepped in, but I don't see this as a big deal. If you have played pool for a number of years, there has been a time when you were that mad. I am old school, and not of the politically correct generation.
It is one thing to have manners, and it is another to HAVE TO BE politically correct all the time. Makes me gag.

You guys are wrong, Pool needs more emotion in it, and a little sh*t talking.
Look at how much attention that Minnesota Fats brought to the game by the way he was.

Here in Wichita, we are embarking on a mission to rate players like boxers kind of, and we are having challenge matches, $100-200 a set, race to 7, play 5 sets, with the option to go 'all in' in case the sets end up 2-2 after 4 sets. The room owner keeps score by games and sets, his wife racks, and each challenge match is recorded by camera. He publishes the results and advertises the matches on Facebook. The players sh*t talk back and forth on Facebook before the match. It gets people interested, and they have usually around 50 spectators for each Challenge match. Oh yeah, the room owner throws in a $100 to the winner of the Challenge Match.

The matches are played on Saturday night at 9 p.m. Since this has been going on, more people than ever are interested in watching and playing.
It has generated more excitement about Pool than there ever was before.
The latest development is the room owner is going to have a 64 player handicapped tournament.

Here is a link for highlights of the last Challenge Match:

I couldn't agree more .Thanks for expressing yourself .

Im curious what Daz said, as its rare to see Rocket go off like that. In either case the threat and f-bomb was a bit much.

Not going to lie though. I was amused.

"You brought it on yourself," said Appleton to Rodney, sparking Rodney's comment about taking it outside, etc.

ex-boxer? What-evas.

You guys have no idea who rodney used to run with in hawaii.

I'd put money on him against daz any day of the week. Name the time, name the place. Haha!

Anyway rodney was more pissed at the fans than daz. He just took it out on daz.

This is mosconi cup! Emotions run high.

I think its quite entertaining really, better then the dry robot routine. :)

The behavior of the European fans has turned the Mosconi cup into a joke. I'm right here in Vegas and I didn't bother to go.

YouTube videos of Earl at the Mosconi Cup are used to demean him but at that event the European fans were actually throwing things at the playing table (including a stuffed animal) while that clown from Cyprus yelled and screamed and frothed at the mouth. Earl flipped them off and it was an appropriate comment.

To summarize, Rodney said "dat not be right brodda, dat be bad action, da kine bodda you brah"

Darren Retorted with: "ahem...excuse me?"

Rodney clarified: " dirty likkins fo shah your mudda *** and faddah"

Darren retorted with " Wot? wot?"

Inexcusable.

I think Rodney was upset because he knows that that Daz and the boys in blue know better than to allow such disrespect. Pool is a precision sport that requires tons of focus. The European fans are out of line and Team Europe should be doing something about it. Sharking has never been acceptable in pool. This is huge group sharking and it disgusting.

This is not sharking, this is actually part of the Mosconi Cup and its pressure.
Without the fans, the Mosconi cup will just be another tournament. When the players comes to the MC they know to what they will be exposed.

I understand that it's more difficult to deal with it when you are loosing, but once again you have to act like a pro and give all you have to win. The public will respect that.

The European players don't have to make the police regarding their fans. If someone has to do it that's the the job of the referee.

Rodney get out of line, he admit it and apologize to Daz. The case is closed.

PS I find the audience a bit soft this MC. Hope it will be more alive next year in York hall :)

sportsmanship gentalman sportsmanship

If my opponett was shooting & my fans were to noisey I would motion to my fans to stop. It's called sportsmanship!

I know Rodey from when he used to play In East Rutherford NJ He was always a gentleman. I'm sure everbody has a breaking point. Just remember you should always act like a camera is always on you. Act professional at all times especially when your a pro. GO USA !

Sorry, I have do disagree. There is a referee in the arena. Michaela Tabb has always asked the fans to shut up when they've crossed the line. This is the role of the ref, not the players.

Is it sportmanship to agress your opponent like Rodney -did once- and Earl on a regular basis. Is it sportmanship to comment, shake your head, smile, etc. on every "good roll" of your opponent? Is it sportmanship to call your opponent "bowling ball" and ask him to play some right after losing on TV table. Please...

European fans show no class. For what its worth, Im not American.

Mosconi cup is not a classy event, it is a funny event. That is the way it is ;)

If you want some class just watch the final of the UK snooker championship, it will be aired at the same time as the MC. :) I'll watch both, so my shakra are balanced lol

half of the mosconi cup players obviously have an issue with the conduct of the fans. Saying its just the way it is, is a cop out. Its not mutually agreed upon.

Yep, the loosing half. I am also pissed when I lose.

hey... and life is life... that's the way it is :o

It is possible to be nosiy and partying, while not hampering players in their game.

The referee has to watch this. If the players have to police their own fans they might lose their concentration on the game as well.
