The refs should have stepped in, but I don't see this as a big deal. If you have played pool for a number of years, there has been a time when you were that mad. I am old school, and not of the politically correct generation.
It is one thing to have manners, and it is another to HAVE TO BE politically correct all the time. Makes me gag.
You guys are wrong, Pool needs more emotion in it, and a little sh*t talking.
Look at how much attention that Minnesota Fats brought to the game by the way he was.
Here in Wichita, we are embarking on a mission to rate players like boxers kind of, and we are having challenge matches, $100-200 a set, race to 7, play 5 sets, with the option to go 'all in' in case the sets end up 2-2 after 4 sets. The room owner keeps score by games and sets, his wife racks, and each challenge match is recorded by camera. He publishes the results and advertises the matches on Facebook. The players sh*t talk back and forth on Facebook before the match. It gets people interested, and they have usually around 50 spectators for each Challenge match. Oh yeah, the room owner throws in a $100 to the winner of the Challenge Match.
The matches are played on Saturday night at 9 p.m. Since this has been going on, more people than ever are interested in watching and playing.
It has generated more excitement about Pool than there ever was before.
The latest development is the room owner is going to have a 64 player handicapped tournament.
