Here are the results of the Red Shoes Bank Tournament in Chicago as posted by Red Shoes over at Onepocket.org.

1st - John Brumback
2nd - T.J. Back
3rd - Truman Hogue
4th - John Zaksas
5th/6th - Eddie Grau & Ike Runnels

Looks like the boys from down south took it to the Chicago guys again. Two wins in a row for Brumback in Chicago... looks like he is ready for the DCC!
 
I went there today hoping to meet those guys. I found out they went all ironman and s**t and wrapped it up at 6:30 that morning! Congrats guys! Maybe I'll bump into you one day jbky.

That is a cercropia moth, North America's largest native moth. I was conducting an inventory of my employer's tree nursery in the Fall and I found two of the caterpillars on a tupelo tree. I took them home with me to show the neighborhood kids. They spun a cocoon within a week or so. Long story short, I had thought that this guy had expired while in the cocoon (cercropia moths have a high failure rate), so I put the cocoon by my pool table amongst other nature items I have collected. One day in mid June of this past summer, I went to shoot some pool and there he was, just emerged and perched on the cocoon and warming up his wings. The pic was just before he flew away outside my house.

Long live the moth!

Oh yeah, this is pool related because he emerged just above my pool table. I guess that means this moth can spot the world the eight.

TJ is from the Middletown Ohio area.. Not sure where he's living now? Pretty darn strong finish..
 
As far as where everybody is "from"..."Yall" know where Brumbeck and Hogue live. T.J. is from Middleton OH, Zaksas and Grau (Chicago) & Ike (Kankakee IL, which is kinda Chicago).

As a kid, I collected and looked for their cocoons every fall when the leaves fell. I would then put a few in my room, dampen em once in awhile and every yr I had these moths in my bedroom in the spring, they are gorgeous.
