Danny Medina. Champion -for-hire

"Pen-Tough"

I don't remember that one. I so remember the 14 at table Stakes though.
No I don't think 58 is a death sentence either. But by now it is 60. I know very well as he is one month older than myself.
i am not one to put limits on anyone. I hate those who say this or that can't be done. There are realities that need to be faced though. none of us at 60 are what we were at 40 or even 50. Being ready to take up the rocking chair though can be as much a frame of mind as anything.
Danny is a proud man and can be a most stubborn one too. i hope he continues as long as he is enjoying himself. pool has been his life for a long time now.

Greetings Ironman:

Danny is fresh out of a state run "bootcamp"...where failure is not an option and compassion non-existent..daily challenges to"play" are made ...and it' for more than just a game, its' for your dignity.

Ready...? He's hard as nails and tough as leather, focused as a laser.

"How not to get a client"

This thread was fvcked up like a football bat until Marop laid it down.

Someone should sticky this and re-title it:

"How not to make a game."

So, I take it "TAR PRODUCTIONS" has no interest in streaming any upcoming challenge matches....duly noted.

You are correct in that I have no interest in streaming a match with Mr. Medina. No offense but I don't really see Mr. Medina being too big of a draw. He's not going to play a top tier player even for any serious money.

Best wishes to making a game somewhere but frankly you are doing it all wrong. If you do not have any money to bet then you are not really trying to make a game. If you do have money to bet make a list of who he will play and what game. Do that and someone somewhere will probably step up to start negotiations in earnest. Unless and until you do that, this is all an exercise in futility.

But hey.....what do I know? I just do this for a living.

I believe the 9 rack run was in Reno vs Billy Incardona..I don't think 58 is a death sentence. Good luck Danny.............:-)

It was Billy,Danny hit the one ball a little to the right on the break cue ball flew off the table. Billy started off with ball in hand like he was going to use the wrong end of the cue and attempt the same feat

wow

This seems like such a cold hard slap of reality.........

Bucky Bell, look at him......still going, I seen him do a all nighter 2 years ago in Lansing Mich, playing 9 ball......:D

i certainly hope so! Nobody on this planet is a bigger fan of his. I have seen the man do some truely remarkable things against remarkable odds.
So many are quick to judge without knowing much of the story and the true story. I guess that is just life. The Indians have a saying,"Don't judge me until you walk a mile in my moccasins"!
Danny has made a mistake or two in his life just as most. He is well aware of them and doesn't hide behind anything. he bleeds red blood just like everyone else.
I applaud and deeply appreciate your efforts. ( I am also sending a pm your way)

At the Derby, around 2003 or so, I was warming up on an open table and got a chance to play Danny for about an hour.

He came up to me and wanted to warm up and I said, "Sure." I guess he was still in the banks and that's what he wanted to play. So we started off shooting banks and I kinda held my own. After a while of that he wanted to shoot some 9ball, so we did that. I remember that he had a huge rifle shot sounding break and ran out pretty effortlessly. But I was still able to win a few.

At one point be broke dry but left the 9 in the jaws of the left down table corner. The 1 was just off the rail a bit up table. I'd been playing a lot of 3C about then so I played an umbrella shot to go rail first with a little inside draw sending the CB another three rails to make the 9. He looked at me for a second and asks, "Did you play that?" And I said, " Sure, it's just a 3C shot." He paused and asked, "What was your name again?"

It was kinda cool.

Lou Figueroa

Thanks for the chuckle!

Best,
Mike

Well, I am interested in broadcasting a match between Danny and someone.

Spoke to Danny and Cashrider this morning. I am planning on including them in my new spontaneous action tour.

FTR, Danny sounds grounded and focused. I believe its gonna be VERY exciting. Danny is NOT a boring player to watch. Can't wait.

Ship it.

Ray

To the Op good to hear Danny is back.

Haven't seen him since the 90's, but he played great (don't know how he plays now) and can definitely teach.

I learned a lot from him if he remembers the Marine from San Diego (On cue billiards) and Laughlin, NV please tell him hello and I hope he is doing well.

Has Danny played against Bill Skinner? I would sure like to see those two match up. I would consider them the best local talents at this time.

In a tournament at Hank's a couple of weeks ago, Danny won 5-1 over Bill.
Danny & Mark Haddad did some kind of split at the end, but Danny was outplaying everyone.
Bill was on some medication and couldn't rock with Danny or Chuck Nielson.

Thanks for the info,,On a good day Bill would be all he could handle in my opinion. I haven't seen Danny play in a long time. The second to last time I saw him was at the old Sports page saloon on Kipling. He had just returned from the road with some hot little blonde about 19 or so that he had taken along with him (So I was told). She was playing the clientele for ten dollar games when I arrived. She hadn't lost a game. My buddies all wanted me to avenge them. I watched a while and asked her who was staking her? She played dumb really well. I sat back for about an hour and in walked Danny. Question answered. I played a few games of $5. eight ball just for for the hell of it when no one else would.... I lost them all. (I did not play defense in those days) He shot lights out! And man oh man could he break. The very last time I saw him play was at Table Steaks on Sheridan. He played Johnny Archer. He did not play well that day.
