Curious. How many innings do you think an APA player needs to hit their points in 9 Ball?

I'm actually talking for the rating. Like how many innings does a 4 need to hit his 31; or a 5 need to hit 38; or a 6 o reach 46 etc

I'm a four in 9-ball, and it usually takes me between 20-30 to get my 31 points.
But I suck, too.![]()
Probably doesn't answer your question but I found that the hdcp is roughly equal to the balls made per rack. It's been a while since I played APA but I would be interested if anyone else came up with the same number. IMO, innings are irrelevant in the APA since that's how most of the players sandbag.![]()
The sandbagging generalization gets tiresome.... Perhaps I am naive, perhaps it's not rampant in my part of the world.... I don't see it here. And I watch everyone. We all know each other pretty well, after playing each other as often as we do. Seeing someone playing that far off would attract attention pretty quickly. Ah, but its easy to throw the sandbagging excuse out there when we lose, right?
As for the "number of balls run per inning" theory, I have played 7's and 8's often enough to know that doesn't fly. I love how everyone here online must all be run-out players. The better players here don't run the table every time, or even every other time. I see very few break and runs. Yes, we must all suck, that's gotta be the answer, right?
I look forward to loriders take on all of this. And some other actual APA players.
In my experience with APA, 6 sessions, and alot of score keeping, I've usually seen around 15-20 innings for a SL4, and around 30-35 innings for SL7 on average. You can give or take several innings each way for safety battles, but that's what I've seen on average.
We are playing tonite. I'll post up handicaps and innings tomorrow sometime. I play as a 7 in 9. Most of my innings are in the 20-25 range I would guess. Sometimes, if a big defensive battle takes place, more. I have also been smoked by a nine handicap in 12 innings. He ran a four pack....
i will also post results of my teamates.
btw i want to say the whole team was in stroke tonight.
we finally picked up a higher handicapped player than i am and i believe it gives us a chance to hang with the big dogs if tonight is an indicator of how well we can compete.
we picked up a 7 who beat their 8 55 -44. as i stated in the 1st post i won 31-4.
our final results was that we won 73-29.
WAY TO GO BAD COMPANY !!
30-35 for an SL-7 would be cause for ridicule in my area.
