Anyone have some info on the difference between the old chalk and this? Its for sale at the Kamui booth at SBE.

I know its grittier and you can kinda hear it going on. What's the good word?

I have a cube of this but don't have the old .98 to compare it to??

I can say it's fantastic!

I'm sure this will bring another wave of purchases for Kamui.

Is it the same price?

This is marketing genius at it's best. Let the Lemmings follow.

BTW, I have a highly modified Master Blue version 1.01 bathed in egg wash for only $29.99 per cube.

It's version 1.01 cause the .01 was when I had to do it over after dropping the bowl of egg wash all over the kitchen floor.

It holds to the tip much better than the old original stuff, and is low in cholesterol.

What's the latest spiel? I'd guess built-in zero deflection. I mean there's already no miscues, tons of extra spin, and reduced personal effort of not having to chalk as much with good old reliable 0.98. Why fix it if it ain't broken?
:p

[sarcasm]...and while we're at it...what's the deal with all these new-fangled internal combustion engines? Why would I want something that costs 100x as much as my horse? All you lemmings go ahead and buy your 'auto-mobile'. Me? I'll just be the realist and keep riding my horse. I refuse to ever buy an 'auto-mobile' unless they reduce the price down to, say, $25 each.[/sarcasm]

Where did everyone get their 1.21 version?

I'd also like to the difference between the new version vs the old version.

I don't care if its microsoft windows kamui 7.0, when it goes down to like $10 a cube, without the need for a whole foods mini zip lock bag, I'll get one.

I got a piece of the 1.21 long ago to test out and report back to John.

It feels more like regular chalk than the 0.98 when you apply it. All the other traits of the 0.98 are present except it aint as creamy. IMO on my tip it dont stick as good as the 0.98 and seems to leave more marks on the table(which I like-I like to mess up the cloth with talc and chalk, seriously). I perfer the 0.98 to the 1.21 and I have used them both lots. I havent played much in the past 5 months but was playing lots when I got the 1.21 and have used it

they are both similar and I use both, its the best chalk ever and worth the $$$. the difference isnt that big.

same observation here sir
got mine last year, but i like the 0.98 better than the 1.21, i have several miscues using the 1.21 already compared with the 0.98
other than that, the new 1.21 doest leave much chalk on the cue ball, unlike the 0.98

Just got the original today and I am impressed with it . I'm a average player 4/5 in the APA ...
