Shanelle Loraine vs. Borana Andoni "Battle of the Billiard Beauties" @Sandcastle ,NJ

Two days remaining!

Only two more days till show time!

This event was created to promote up and coming players and spark some interest in those who may not otherwise be interested in the game.

Hopefully more women will be inspired to play, as well as some children or even the occasional bangers.

We all need to promote the sport in different ways to appeal to everyone out there.

Don't worry players; I am working on some heavy hitter events as well. ;)

We must first promote events that average people can relate to and THEN once we've got their attention or get them hooked, we can show them the true extent of caliber that exists in the pool world.

I hope that all my efforts and $$$ are not going to waste in my attempts to help the billiards industry grow for all of us to enjoy and prosper from. Working 16-18 hours a day/7days a week for FREE requires a lot of support to keep me going. ;) ;) All I can do is build the troth, fill it with water and lead the horses to Sandcastle. Players and enthusiasts have to do the rest.

I thank all of you for your comments and input which kept this thread at the top of the forum listing.

I'd like to see how many AZ'ers that will be in the area will actually come out on Sunday to play in the OPEN 9-Ball tourney at Noon (registration at 11am) and then hang around to support the ladies at 8pm and maybe even challenge them on the table to a rack or two.

Thank you all once agin for your support!

Sandcastle Weekly Events;
Mondays: 14.1 Straight Pool League
Tuesdays: Handicapped 9-Ball Tournament
Wednesdays: Accu-Stats Game show streamed live in the Simonis Arena & Ladies' Night
Thursdays: TAP team 9-Ball League
Fri., Sat., & Sun.: Players by day and bangers by night ;)
EVERYDAY: Play from 11am - 6pm for just $10.00!

See you Sunday???

Very well stated. I honestly agree with you that this event or any other promotional events are good for pool. At present state of pool, we should embrace any new ideas as long as it's not criminal nor dishonorable.

I know I've jabbed not so nice sarcastic comment but I got caught up in flow of thread and just couldn't resist not to pitch in. However, I do have lot of respect for all ladies out there working hard to promote the sport and trying to make a living. It takes lot of courage and confidence to put themselves out in the open court like they do. Some times you might get support from audience and most times you'll have to face harsh criticism and rudeness.

I think we could lighten up a little and take an outlook of entertainment business. That there is no such thing as negative press?

I'm sure the event will be crowd pleasing and entertaining to everyone.

Good luck to SandCastle and ladies.

This was the only video I could find of Shanelle playing in a match.

Id like to thank Charlie Williams and Dragon promotions for all they do for women and womens pool.
The majority of pool players have no idea how hard it is to have to play pool in 6" heels.

There are really pretty tennis shoes you can play in that is made by Luis Vuitton. Prada has some really nice ones too.

Is this is archived on their channel? I haven't gone to check, but I would like to watch this later tonight when I get off work. I couldn't make to the stream last night.

Too bad the pool didn't.

A lot of people talk about their ability and rating level. Rating levels can be different from area to area.

If you saw the match, what did you think about Borana's and Shanelle's play and what their rating would be in your area ? I think the table they were on had tight pockets and it was a 9 footer.

I'm watching it. Good looking girls. I think Shanelle is amazing for playing someone better on TV.

Borana didn't play well and could have won every game. That said, Shanelle has a lot of guts putting herself out there. Shanelle, let me show you how to pivot!

Assuming we rate women on the same scale as men, I'd think Borana is a B+ and Shanelle as a C+.

All thongs considered, I was impressed with Borana's shot selection, patterns and cue ball control. She thinks through a table very well. Yes, she comes up a bit at times.

It seems Shanelle has a nice stroke, but her CB control needs work. And.... IMO the way she goes down on a shot is peculiar. She is inconsistent in how she steps into a shot. Sometimes she scopes her shot with her head down and tends to not come up, step back, and step into it. Other times she does step in.

IMO, Borana could spot Shanelle the 7 out.

My hats off to both. Their enthusiasm and respect for the game was evident by their focus on every shot.
