Master Spots???

I have a tin of Master Spots I just bought and was replacing my spot and I am either retarded or these spots are crap. I licked the back of the first one and not sticky at all.. i got the second one wet on the back and front.. nothing.. third one i soaked it for a second ..NOTHING... WTF? Im not using glue because cloth moves over time.
 
Some of the new master spots are self sticking and don't need licking...
 
I gave up on them. The new Master Spots are thinner and have stickies on the back that you peel off.:thumbup:

Buy the Pressure Sensitive spots from Seyberts. If they do not have them I know Ozone Billiards does. Be sure to specify "pressure sensitive".
 
The newer Master spots are peel and stick. I wasn't sure about them at first since I have run into problems trying off-brand peel and sticks (too thick, poor adhesion), but the new Master spots are working just fine in the 42-table room that I maintain. As far as I'm concerned, Master still makes the best spot on the market, but I'm sure Kamui will come up with something better. I just won't be able to afford them. :p

Maybe you just got real old ones and the glue is no good. I have the type that you have to lick and they work fine.
 
Is there any reason why using a sharpie to mark the spot is not a good idea? Just curious.

The spot protects the foot spot from damage caused by breaking. My straightpool table has no spot because there is no heavy contact there like there is on a table used for other games.

We had a problem at Family Billiards with the peel and stick (not sure of manufacture). They come on a paper roll.
They would leave a black smuge on the head ball (1). Seems that when breaking for 9 or 10 ball the head ball skids on the spot and leaves a mark.
I must admit that it took an hour for 4 of us to figure out why the 1 balls
all had black marks on them. :scratchhead: Went back to the old tried and true Master lick 'em and stick 'em spots.

Yah Table cloth loosens and in some spots tightens over the years which moves the spot on the table.. atleast in Indiana we have this problem, and im sure not going to take it apart to tighten it for a 1/3 inch so i go with the flow of my cloth
 
New table
Legend Speed cloth
Mechanic's spot came off after 15-20 hours of play
New peel and stick Master Spot went on clean and flat and has stuck perfectly.l The edges are "whiting out" but it seems to be a great spot.
