Anyone still useing a LePro, Triangle, or other NON LAYERED TIP

My preference..... pressed triangle. Pressing my own using one of Joe Picone's tip presses and/or Rocketcues tip presses. Lot's of education on AZ....

Now just need a Durometer to measure the hardness. Fun hobby........

.

Had my Triangle replaced with a new one 2 days ago. The repairman said the old one still had a lot of life left but I knew he was leaving for a few months and just wanted a new one.

Guilty as charged. Love the Jensen Milk Dud tips (soaked/pressed Elkmasters)...they do everything I could ask from a tip and last a good long time. As long as I can keep getting them, I will not be changing my tip choice.

Used LePro for many years. Switched to Triangles about 9 years ago. I tried three of the most popular brands of multi-layer tip...I hated them all. Johnnyt

All I use best tip out there. I will never use a layered tip again. Plus Dawg8 is a super nice guy...

That's right. He is a nice guy. Me and my best friend been getting tips from him going on a couple years now. Haven't had a reason to use anything else.

I switched because I wasn't happy with the 'break-in' time on a layered tip, and couldn't find complete consistency from one to another with any particular brand. The Duds hold chalk well, don't mushroom, and I've still got plenty of tip left after almost two years of constant steady play. I like the 3 for $25 (shipping included) price point too.

Switched to layered tips...hated them...went back to the trusty triangle

Triumphs

When I need to have a new tip put on... I've got a friend who hooked me up with Triumph's... the ability to change the way the tip plays (by adjusting the level of burnishing on the sides) makes for a very interesting tip...

How can I get some I don't really care for layered tips either ...

At this point, (and likely for the rest of my life) my equipment still plays better than me.

A couple of the cues I've bought here have come with layered tips, each of them of the highly-regarded brand type. They were nice enough, I guess... but they aren't what I'm used to. I wasn't willing to stick it out and get used to a layered tip for what I perceived to be a step sideways in performance. Add to that the cost, and it was no contest. For $13 I bought a box of 50 Triangle tips, and that's good enough for me!

I used to play with Lepro and I could not make a ball. One day I discovered Triangle tips and used them for years(couldnt make a ball).
Now days I am missing shots with layered tips:thumbup:.
