Bad Transaction with incognito

I'll throw him some greenies to counteract my red, if he makes this right. Hopefully he'll step up here.

Not to be all "I told you so" or 20/20 hindsight, but rather to try (for the millionth time) to point out a far better "cure" for the future than this community pressure to do the right thing directed at a guy that obviously doesn't care.

What I'd do if I was the buyer in this transaction, is reverse my PayPal payment through my credit card and wait for the seller to change his tune. If the seller (a guy I didn't know) wouldn't take my PayPal, I wouldn't do the deal. It doesn't matter if the seller offers a satisfaction guarantee, your credit card company does, and they will force the seller to act as a responsible merchant.

OK, carry on.

Thanks

Kevin

ok, dumbass question of the day ... how do you send red rep? is it just a matter of hitting the report post button?

and feel free to mock me as long as you answer the question within the mocking (funny is good too)

There are two buttons, one says "report post" and the other says "add to reputation". Click the add to rep and there is a choice of approve or disapprove. Send him a little message about his actions and choose the disapprove button. This will be red rep. If you choose the approve, that is green rep.

Just sayin that perhaps we could use instances like this for us to discover a safer way of doing business rather than over and over and over "discovering" that not all people are honorable in their business dealings. I mean many of us are gamblers, but we need to separate what's business and what's gambling and quit taking risks in our business dealings. This is 2012 and there are completely safe methods of electronic transactions.

This problem would have been easily resolved if the payment was funded through a credit card.

Another example of why escrow is so valuable. I've used Ross "Rossaroni" as well as Troy "koinnkid". It sucks we need to protect ourselves from people like this... He will stay red until he makes things right. We all know he hid the severe "issues" with his cue. Refund his money and make this right. Many would,be surprised how far AZ members reach.

AZ is a small community of pool enthusiasts who like to try out different cues from time to time. Your reputation for honesty is the only way of being a member here. Without honesty, there is no way anyone will do business with you. Life is too short to go around screwing people. Troy I wish you success in getting resolution in this matter.

well said

The OP hasn't asked for advice, but I'll throw out this suggestion anyway. If you use Paypal for this type of transaction, you do have recourse if you become the victim of misrepresentation. I once bought a cue on eBay that turned out to be not as advertised. After the seller refused to make things right, I took the cue to a local room owner for evaluation. He provided a written assessment which showed that the original description was erroneous. I sent these documents to Paypal. They reversed the original payment and I was left whole (except for shipping costs).

Many of you may already know this, but if you didn't it's worth knowing. I know Paypal often gets a bad rap, but if you can document an issue you can come out on top with them.

Unreal

Troy no one deserves this , but you of all people definitely do not!! I hope this guy takes Care of this, refunds the money, resells under the appropriate descriptions and saves himself. Other wise he needs not do business here on AZ any longer IMHO!! Good luck Troy hope you get what you deserve a refund

Might be done

I had interest in this cue and exchanged Pm's with the seller early on, we didn't come to terms but I was somewhat impressed with the way he conducted himself.
I sent him a PM today rergarding the bad deal and here it is along with his reply.

Read some of his past posts, I don't think he's a bad guy. Take the rope off his neck if he does in fact give the refund.

I'm giving him a generous partial refund which he agreed to. More than he originally asked for. I was never out to rip anybody off.
