Vintage Palmer

Helping to identify a cue or its components is one thing

Making demands is something else

The OP was insulted 1st

Just my thoughts - I have no dog in the fight

Not by Nick he wasn't. But he did insult Nick. I liked what Nick responded BTW. Anyone who has sold anything knows there's a pretty good percentage of the population that detests no price listed. For the life of me I can't figure out why people continue to operate that way. It invites insults and hurt feelings and no one is ever fooled in the end. For what?

Just an observation.....If you had been a bit more forthcoming with an answer to the question..."How much do you want for the cue?" You probably would not find yourself in a pissing contest having little success getting answers to your questions...or allegations....Just sayin....Nice cue by the way...

Answer my allegations above or shut the duck up!
Canwin[/QUOTE]

If the shafts have any bow in them at all send them to me, and i will straighten them out for you!!!! If you tell me how much you want for the cue, I think it is a really a nice cue!!

Question about an offer.........

To all those who replied, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Ad has been updated with more specific wording to reflect my intentions.
Thx

Canwin

Canwin,

I have several hundred cues, so please do not think of me as a tire kicker.

If I make you an offer for this Palmer ( I have about 40, including 3 very fancy unplayed early cues) and you decline, what happens next?

Do you ask me to make another offer, which I do, followed by another decline. What next?

Can you not see I am not interested in making several offers, only to be repeatedly declined? Over and over and over...

I can tell by this thread that you just do not care about my side of the purchase process, only yours. And I like your cue. BTW, in order for you to decline what I might think is a bona fide offer in these times of financial chaos and economic uncertainty, you must have a bit of an idea of what you want.

Are you worried that citing a book price when the economy was quite a bit different may not wash well, but you do not care because it lines up better with your idea of current value?

Can I use a 10 year old MLS real estate book to determine how to list my home now?

How best would you have me proceed in a way that considers both players in the deal? What would you have me do?

Will Prout

That's what I don't get about forums. Why so many people really give a ducks ass how I go about selling anything, much less a cue stick and post an opinion about it.(I myself don't give a duck ass what you think about it)
I could go on but I'd have to charge your dumbass'.
To all the experts that have challenged my thoughts about this stick-whens the last time I've seen an original stick posted by you? It's always
sticks that've been "restored". Since this Palmer looks in premium collector ORIGINAL condition, why is it that I've NEVER seen a Szamboti, Palmer, Balabushka,or Paradise listed by anyone that's in its ORIGINAL condition; shafts included(and that goes for all the professional cue salesman) that inhabit AZ forum? HUH? You ducks want to respond to that or no? Why is everything "restored"? Don't you know that in the real world of collectables that if you "restore" something it slashes its value. Oh yea, that doesn't apply in your world. What's the reason Tricky Nick/Dickcan?
As an aside, the Palmer is highly likely to have a Spain forearm also..
The only arguement about the points seems to be "they don't look right"
and they're the wrong color. Since when is black, orange, chartreuse, and maple colors not the right color. I could put alot more of you ducks on the point, but I'll just leave it. Just try to answer my questions.. I'm waiting!

Answer my allegations above or shut the duck up!

I am not insulting your cue and I didn't mean to insult how you sell your cue. I was mearly pointing out that when you sell your cue by asking for offers, more often than not, it does not turn out well.

As for your insinuation that no one sells unrestored, original cues here on AZ, I just sold this cue in about 12 hours.

Good luck with your sale!!

Now his cue has 2 possible forearms,by Szamboti and Spain.Maybe the price is very high, cause the cue has 2 forearms.lol

Boy that NEVER is an awfully long time. Unfortunately, in this case, it has far more to do with what YOU'VE seen (or are willing to admit you've seen) rather that what has actually taken place here in the AZ marketplace. Here's the last 3 Balabushkas I've sold here on AZ, all in original unrestored condition, 2 with additional added shafts (but including the ORIGINAL shafts also) by Tascarella. BTW, the first 2 have ACTUAL VERIFIED Burton Spain forearms (as opposed to to your POSSIBLE Szam arm). You do know that Gus's son is available to ID the forearm on your cue right? Speaking of Gus, that Will character that posted on your thread here bought an ORIGINAL UNRESTORED Gus from me, so there's 4 examples from me alone, so your "never" is kinda out the window. Anyway, I wish you all the success with your sale that you deserve.

I'm gonna hold onto it. It's got too much going for it. Money's not the object now. If it were, then I'd have taken the 1.5K that was offered in the first 20 minutes of the ad. If Prout is like all the other speculator/collectors, then he'd of not been a serious buyer either. .

Apparently you don't know who Will Prout is or what he will pay for a cue he wants. Too bad for you........

Partner Mr. Prout has one of the largest collections in the country. The truth be known you made a mistake about Will, if he offered to buy your cue he would have, but like he said above he is no longer interested.

I think it is a good idea that you have decided to hang on to the cue, all the serious buyers are longer interested. I really do not understand what you were trying to do here, it certainly doesn't appear that you ever intended to sell this cue. So if that is true why did you intentionally cause all this drama, I just do not get it.

I would offer you good luck with your sale, but I don't think it will ever happen here!!

Take care

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS IS A NOTHING MORE THEN A

"4) "Price check" threads are not allowed. "

it seems all your doing is wasting everybodies time...

I might have went about it the wrong way but hey, what the hey .
In the last day, today at least, I was locked out of the thread and couldn't respond to anyone so my arms were tied there anyway. Didn't think all this could lead to all the drama as I had no intention of that. But, when I said PM me, I meant PM me and don't understand how potential buyers didn't pick up on that as it was 1 simple request. So, I just had to kinda sit back and watch the drama unfold that was unbeknownst to me.
The drama was induced by the AZers who took it to the board where it didn't belong when they should have sent a PM. Case closed.
The so-called serious buyers that posted on the board came in very low
but you can't tell them anything .. the bird has flown
Canwin

I don't understand how were you locked out of this thread?
