Wood porn

The purple is nice but I like the purple blue pieces.
Maybe I'm off in the color dept but I would like to play with a cue with those colors.
But what can you expect from a guy whose wife dresses him. I have zero in the way of color coordination

Sweet wood. I could picture the Purple as a handle with a super sweet piece of ultra white curly as fore arm and butt sleeve.

One of the burls I found ATVing. Pics were of the first opening cut. I got half a dozen more 1.75" slabs from it after. Slabs are approx. 15" wide by 20-40" long. Lots of wood. Got a few more bigger logs scouted but gonna be a job getting them. This burl is what the locals call box elder, but it's not box elder. It's a small shrubby tree with leaves similar to box elder, but the wood is hard & dense like sugar maple.

Very nice!!! I bought all of that stuff in 18" squares. I bought what was on the shelf, then made them cut up all they had still in board form & bought it too. Wasn't much wood, unfortunately, but enough to last me the rest of my life!!!! I was surprised how stable & how well processed it is.

I asked if they could get more and they told me it was a unique log like nothing they'd ever seen before, but that they'd keep an eye out for more & contact me if they ever come across some again.

Yep Eric, I like that stuff too. Heavy dense and tons of curl. Altho the curl becomes pretty subdued when its finished out, until you turn the wood in the light and then you can see it...

This is some spalted black ash burl I just got back awhile ago from the stabilizer. Finally sanded the crust off of it today. PITA. I think these sizes will work for a wrapless cue right ?

Forearm 13"
Handle 12"
and Butt 5"-6"

Sloppy Pockets, that is an incredible piece of wood, and i'm sure you know is very valuable. So when are you gonna cut it up into 18" squares for cues? J/K I wouldn't cut it, either.
