Well, I watched an episode of Sharks today. That was 6:28 that I wasted that I can never get back. Guess Murnak has made a ton on cases and had to spend it somewhere. Geez............

How about something more along the lines of this instead?

First, let me say thanks for your effort in putting together a pool related video. We need a lot more people to do these kinds of things for our game. While it's not my cup of tea, I do appreciate the time and effort you put into this.

Good luck on any future projects! Maybe the next one might be more up my alley.

Geez.....I'm all for free speech and all, but comments like that are totally uncalled for. Theres a lot of stuff I don't like, but if someone went to all the time and effort to put together something that was free to everyone, a person ought to have some measure of respect to at least offer a mature comment.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people that do nothing for our game other then try to be as crude and negative as they can dream up.

It's like people can't wait to wake up in the morning and spew some negativity thinking it's funny.

FAIL

So what are you saying that you want him to make one about bowling next time "more up your alley"

Hey, I've been watching the series...it's amusing. I guess I'm easily
entertained. But really, I wasn't expecting any Oscar winning script or
performances.

I love it! Finally, I get the acting and plot of porn without all of the random acts of penetration!
In all seriousness though, I've watched them all and while it's not perfect, it's something! The plot and acting have progressed, and I applaud the effort put into it.

Good Response

Tap!Tap!Tap! You have hit the bullseye,CaliRed! Anyone who has ever done work in front of a camera understands that it doesn't just flow like real life. It takes WORK! Understanding what goes on behind the camera and the development of a script is an arduous task at best, and gut wrenching agony at the worst.

Anyone who endeavors to promote pool through a visual medium should be applauded, and Loudly, for their efforts. The reward is not an Oscar or an Emmy,or even a Razzie, but a sense of fulfillment in a project of love.

I have watched every episode of Sharks, and I appreciate everything Jim and his crew are doing. Yes, it is evident that the actors are learning as they go,but that is sometimes what you get when operating on a shoestring.

Let's all be more supportive and less critical when we are appraising our fellow cueing enthusiasts.

I watched part of one episode. Never bothered to watch any after as it wasn't any thing that appealed to me. That is me, if TV programs depended on me for ratings they wouldn't be anything on TV. My wife records about 40 worth of shows a week and I don't watch any of it.

Now give me a live game of hockey, pool, baseball, football and etc and I am glued to it. I guess that I don't like drama.

Another take

I am hooked. Its so cheesy its addicting - I had a similar experience with Melrose Place. Jennifer B is so smoking hot. Something about a hot chick that plays pool.

Jeez, some of these guys act like they paid good money for a bad movie. But, I think its actually good that some people dont like it. Even negativity breeds controversy and popularity.

It is like the cheezy latin soap opera's. It can be entertaining if you don't take it seriously. Plus it's pool, my local hall and fun to see people you know.

If you don't like drama, maybe 8 For Vegas is more your style. A comedy make believe documentary of an APA 8 ball team. Definitely not your typical web series. Pretty funny with a good script and acting.

Snide...check
Uninformative...check
Possibly vindictive...check
Poorly written...check

All of this in under 40 words. You may have the post of the year!

dld

But was he accurate in his assessment? Check.

What have you made that is better? (On film, or in the way of cases?) What do you do besides knock?

With all due respect, what the original OP is stating here is nothing that hasn't already been stated before. Yet for some reason, you guys seem to be jumping down his throat. The 'constructive criticism' that you guys seem to think would be in better taste has also been noted. And when that happens, people jump down the throat of whoever says that as well.

That being said, since when is it only acceptable to voice opinions as long as its nothing but praise (whether it be sincere or completely ingenuine)???

I don't see one post, nor have I ever seen, that says a person can/should post only positive comments.
You mean to tell me that when you read the OP post, you agree that's a good way to communicate his dislike for Jim's video?

Why do we always get the post that takes it the complete extreme of one way or the other. My post clearly says I believe one should be able to voice that they didn't care for the video. I also say there's a more common sense way of communicating that opinion.

How would you feel if you dumped money and say 20 hours of your time into making a pool related video that you freely shared to a pool forum and some guy started a new thread to tell people he just wasted 2 mins if his life that he will never get back? Would that give you a shot of enthusiasm to feel like sharing anymore videos?

The part that irritates me so much, coming from someone that spends a ungodly amount of his personal time making pool related projects, is someone that spends NO time sharing pool related projects but feels that he needs to tear someone that does, a new azzhole.

If you were the author of the video, would you like to see constructive criticism or just rude hateful comments?

We need to encourage people to create and share, not discourage. We can still tell them we didn't like it, but in a constructive way.

Would you agree with that statement?

People can't wait to post a negative experience about a person or product, yet that seldom gets attention. This post is no different, he posted his opinion and you jump in his guts! It's not the greatest "show", but did you ever think it may be drawing attention to pool that we don't want? Non pool players or those interested in the sport may see it as negative or possibly a "you mean this is supposed to get me to play pool?!?". It's a great effort, bit it's simply not enough....or that great.

This is my opinion, feel free to bash me....Which speaks volumes of how some of the pool community is looked upon. We trash each other over the dumbest things, yet we want to be perceived as "promoting" our sport/hobby. It ain't working.

LOL! What a F@#$ing hilarious scene. If you don't find the latest scene funny I don't know what is wrong with you. I've actually broken cues before but never as happy as the numb nuts in the script.

It's pretty entertaining now that I think about it because it actually is pool, with real pool players, who act better than me, but hey they try.
