Hello. I have a Joel Dadivas cue that I didn't like the leather wrap on. The seam was unsightly and the leather was showing signs of discoloration on each end. I took the cue to a local repairman to have a linen wrap put on it. He did a good job on it with what he had to work with, but he said that the wrap channel was cut to deeply and so a single layer of wrap left the edges of both the buttsleeve and the ring (at position C) with sharp edges. He said another layer of wrap would make the wrap too high. I took it home as it was and am not very pleased with the outcome (through no fault of the repair guy).
Is there something that can be done with this cue to get a decent wrap that fits flush with the ring and buttsleeve?
My thinking is that maybe a stacked leather wrap could be wound on to a thickness that would be suitable for this cue. Stacked leather was my original thinking anyway. I wish now that I would have just been more patient and gotten more info on the subject. Live and learn, I guess.
Cuemakers, any suggestions?
Thanks for anything you offer!!!
