Congrats to Dennis @ Hard Times

If one is to be completely honest I am not totally sure that the USA has a single player in the top 10 in the world atm, even when you include SVB. The level that the true peak players play at, the guys like Dennis, Wu, Chang, Ralf, when they REALLY get going, I am not sure SVB is not a step behind those absolutely top teir players.

Perhaps so, but I've heard that SVB has gone over to the Philippines before and fared decently in challenge matches

The whole issue Celtic is when they "REALLY" get going.

Who defines that? I mean when I really get going there is no one in the world who can beat me. I'm sure when you really get going there is no one who can beat you either.

There are several variables here. What are we talking, tournament, or backroom, are we talking about all around, or just rotation games, and maybe most important

HOW TIGHT ARE THE POCKETS?

I don't know about you Celtic, but I like to see run outs. And I remember 20 or 30 years ago, I liked to see someone be down 10-3, people not saying it's over, because the other player could put a 7 on someone and it wouldn't even be the highlight of the tournament. Now it's how tight can we make the table, double or triple shimmed? 4 1/8 pockets 4 1/4 or whatever they are now.

To me, it would be more fun to have a nice playing table, but one someone could put a package on. What was the high run in this match, a 2 pack? that should tell you that not only is the table a bit rough, but it wears a player down. And if you like to see packages you will want to pay for packages, if you don't see packages, then you may stop buying anyone's stream.

This is by no means anything on any particular streamer. If Dennis and Mike can only muster up a 2 pack, then something is wrong. But also how many did SVB and Dennis get 2 or 3 wasn't it

I think Orcullo may have put a 3 or 4 pack together vs Frost.

Tables were tight, but not so tight to make it totally absurd

Nah, I have shot pretty close to my peak and still gotten beat by Tyler Edey... more then once... sucked...

It is all relative and you need to look at what each players peak really is. SVB's is for sure sick, but IMO when Dennis or Souquet hit their peak gear it represents an even higher gear.

And then you talk of "average" games, Dennis when he is "not" hitting that absolute peak gear is STILL insane, TBH there is very little difference. Instead of running a 4 pack he runs a 3 pack. There is not alot of "total dog" in Dennis's game from what I have seen. I HAVE seen SVB go through some pretty poochy stages in TAR matches for extended periods of time. I have watched Dennis, Souquet, Yang, Wu, and some other peak players play quite alot of pool and you see them miss "ONE" shot and it is a complete shock to the fans, to the announcers, to themselves, and then they go and don't miss another shot for the next 10 games.

It is hard to compare the peak players without seeing them actually compete with each other. We finally see SVB play a guy who is clearly one of the best on the planet and everyone knows he is one of the best on the planet and he beats SVB 11-3 with WELL over a 0.900 accustat while SVB is below 0.700. SVB in international events with the fields of phenoms does not seem to win many of those events. Chang seems to win a few, Orcullo gets there semi often, Hohmann snaps off a major a year against a world class field normally, SVB... not so much. He plays alot of TAR matches, but besides Alex he has never really snapped off a top player and he caught a gear at the end of day 1 and day 2 in that match and WAY outbroke Alex to do it, TBH I think Alex "shot" better then SVB in that match, but the break killed him. When the breaking advantage was removed by putting Busta in the box SVB got beat, and it seems Orcullo can break at least as well as SVB and that makes it tough for SVB to really have a chance to win a TAR match like that because lets be honest, Dennis shoots better.

Shane missed a five ball in one game, then missed the ten ball in another.

I said to my wife before he shot them that these are miss-able shots, not as easy as Jay and the chat were saying.

Dennis played great, but we were rooting for Shane.

When he missed that "easy" ten ball I knew the match was over. Instead of making it 7-4 down and breaking it was now 8-3, with Dennis breaking. Shane was clearly shook up by that miss.

Yes the tables at Hard Times are triple tough, but this is SVB, one of the premier players on planet Earth. He is never supposed to miss shots like these! A little tougher shot maybe. It was clearly a mental lapse when he dogged the ten ball. And he knew it too!

The table they played on had 4 inch pockets. Orcullo broke and ran 5 times out of ten breaks including a two pack to end the match. I have never seen anyone play that well on that table before. Bustamante said it is the toughest table he has ever played on and Orcullo shot like .950? The size of the pockets didn't matter. He just played flawless pool.

Orcollo played extremely good on this match. He missed some easy shots but you can tell how confident he was.I don't know if it is just me but i can tell how excited the commentator was everytime Dennis makes mistake and Shane was up on the table.I don't know who he is but i'm sure he's a great fan of Shane.Everytime Shane was on the table, the commentator can't help himself praising how good Shane is or how could shane turn the game around. When dennis was on the table, the guy won't stop talking how dennis missed the 4ball or how dennis is losing his concentration.I thought both of these guys deserve an equal credit.Shane for winning the A side bracket and Dennis for winning the whole event.

Congrats Dennis O for a great tournament win. Also a big thank you has to go out to POVPOOL.COM for the great free stream. Johnnyt

If you are talking about Jay Helfert, I don't think he favors Shane over Dennis because he stated that Dennis was actually staying at his house this week
