Hatch The Shark

As players you don't disrespect the promoter and fans! You dress accordingly, given its streamed worldwide and recorded. You limit your motions when the opponents at the table. ITS JUST COMMON COURTESY!

TAR needed a format change requiring the ref to make all calls! Thus, limiting player interaction!

Grady used to say he wanted his opponent behind a screen so he would have no idea who he was playing and what they were doing. Just come to the table and play them as they lay.

Wouldn't that be cool to find out your opponent at the end like surprise its blank pro player!

I think that's a very cool and interesting idea, Kid. In fact, I'd love to see that! What a great match that would be.

Imagine if you won and the person behind the curtain was Efren.

You use CTE or what? Maybe we can play some at Tunica.

Unfortunately for me -- and maybe you -- I will not be going to Tunica. I had to put down my 13-year-old dog on April 16th, and my daughter, thinking she was doing the right thing, bought me a brand-new 9-week-old puppy. I can't tell you how mad I was she did this without my knowledge, but I have grown to love him.

Hope you and your comrades have fun sans JAM. I guess you'll have to find somebody else to make fun of.

Meet Mickey McCready!

P.S. I've been watching Dennis O. play for the last week, both in the tournament and in money games. He never says a word or makes a peep when his opponent is shooting. Even when he was getting sharked, he totally ignored it, not responding visibly in any way. One player he was in action against was constantly talking throughout the match, complaining about anything and everything. Dennis never even looked in his direction!

Dennis responds by coming to the table and shooting great pool! He knows how to quiet all the outside chatter, he stuns them into silence! :yeah:

This is generally the case with virtually every Filipino, Taiwanese, and European player I have seen. It tends to be the American players that pipe up and yack and treat the "competition" as less then what they should and thus by doing so tarnish its image as a true and proper sport.

Someone above or in another thread said their should be rules against talking to your opponent in pool except for to ask for a ref or address a shot specifically, this is 100% correct in and in any other sport where it is competition between two players talking to each other is generally not done whatsoever, you simply play the game, and it comes off as worlds more professional.

The somewhat comical and almost sad thing is that in the amature ranks of the BCAPL single competition from the open division all the way to the grand masters you have far less talking and sharking then you see in your average pro event in the USA. In "most" of my matches I have ever had in Vegas both myself and my opponent have both been quiet and sat in our chairs when the opponent was shooting.

He's quite a beautiful pup. You two will be busy for a while now, though, labs stay puppies for a few years. At least mine did!

Ain't that the truth. It's more like 3 years to be exact. Labs are great dogs, but they are slow to mature! :embarrassed2:

Is Keith still planning on making an appearance? I was really looking forward to meeting both of y'all.

i did not see the match, but it looks like you all seen two personalities clashing and next you will see Shane and archer which will most likely be a quiet match. This is the real world and you people need to deal with the fact the world is not how you want it to be! you all wonder whats wrong with pool, look no further than this board and you can see why.

Keith wants to go, and it's up to him. I can't leave a small dog like this. I did that one time for the U.S. Open, put my dog in a kennel for 10 days, and I will never, never, never do that again. I actually was kind of looking forward to going on a road trip down south.

Jam,

Cute puppy, I do know the pain of losing a long time companion. Sorry for your loss, hopefully yours and mine are playing together in doggie heaven.

Take Care

I think your daughter ought to take care of Mickey for a few days....

Just sayin'... :p

That is awsome, I'd love to see a match played like this! Ref to watch the match, neither player knows who they are playing, or what they did to get to the next shot.

Oh, I wasn't going to make fun of you. But I'm glad you're not going... means I won a bet.

Congrats on the dog, I just bought my daughter a baby yorkie.

Rather than dignify you with a comprehensive reply to the fictional bet, I'll say that when the tides of life turn against you and the current upsets your boat, don't waste your tears on what might have been, just turn on your back and float.

All things considered.....it was a great match between 2 great champions.

I'm glad I got to watch all 3 days. I'd love to see both of them play again!

With a signed behavior contract in hand.

I thought Dennis looked more at ease and Mike looked visibly shaken but it was well worth the money spent to watch 2 great champions go head to head.

Bring on the next event!

I don't own a boat but I might buy a jetski.

Couple things:

-you wouldn't stop talking while he was shooting
-you wouldn't stop moving while he was shooting
-you took endless bathroom breaks
-you ALSO threw your jump cue across the room
-you ALSO slammed your cue several times on day 3
-you would say "nice out Mike" whenever you left an 8ball in the jaws and he ran 3 balls.
-you play the bully card... threatening harm and trying to intimidate.
-you were on your phone several times. Even on day 3.
-you did everything you could to scare him and he still won.
-you just called yourself a "class guy" while typing a completely classless post.
-you acted like a baby when you knew it was over...

Tell me I'm wrong...

Don't forget the wearing of ear plugs so your opponent has to constantly shout the "called" shot, the selective hearing, and then acting surprised when you didn't know what shot the guy was shooting cause you couldn't hear the "called" shot. :boring2:

I know we are in the middle of a big old "This is why pool is dead in America" frenzy here but the above statement brought a mental picture to mind and that picture made me smile.

This is that picture:

In my honest opinion this thread is freaking ridiculous and stupid to even be started. You completely just brought out a double edged sword of what EVERYBODY knew was going to happen before the match. Did you not read all the threads, comments, and posts about how these two were going to be at each others throats the whole time? Or how much they hate each other and there is absolutely no love lost between them? It was talked about for weeks before the match and everybody said this was exactly how it was going to be. So now that it actually happened you all are in shock that the match played out the way it did and that they acted like this towards each other. I mean come on are you all really so shocked at something that you KNEW was going to happen?

Yeah, but isn't this new topic better than talking about Earl the Pearl, best aiming strategy, or who's the best 9-ball player in the world? :p
