I have a problem...Bustamante vs TAR 26 Winner Back to Back. Opinions wanted

I responded on Facebook, but I'll say it again... HELL YES!

This is awesome and anytime you can get Bustamante in a TAR matchup, the better. He is my favorite rotation player to watch.

My vote is yes!!! I would definitely buy both (package deal or not).

You've got Archer, arguably the best American player in the last 30 years (probably Earl, but for the cheddar Johnny). SVB, the best American in the world right now. AND, Busty, an icon in the world of pool over the last quarter century wanting to play the winner of the Archer/SVB match.

I see this as a perfect storm coming together. It's kind of like Halley's comet in that you may only get to see it once in your lifetime and some people never get to see it.

Surely people would pay to see the extra match no matter the timing, but I've been out of the pool loop (<-----wow, not sure what that's called, but it's a rare bird I bet), for a year and half so I may be off base.

How about this. It's time for all of us whiners (myself included) about the state of pool to put our money where our (collective) mouth is. I'm very strapped for cash right now, but I'll pre-pay for both event with or without a package deal and eat Ramen noodles for dinner for a week or two. Tar is trying to keep pool alive in the U.S. and I have bought several ppv's and traveled to the TAR studio for shane and earl....(I'm the ugly bastard with the snout in the Joe Rogan/Earl YouTube video). I want to support TAR as much as I can because without them what pool will we watch? I'm in for both Justin.
Let's dig deep. $70 bucks isn't life changing.

Ring game

All three together in a ring game!
Winner takes the lions share, the other two play the final day
for the balance...loser of that gets nothing.

I see something like this:
For the people that want as much pool as possible you give them both weekends for $60 (depending on your cost analysis)

For the people that want to wait to see who wins the first match: $35 for the first weekend. If your player wins, because you signed up for the first weekend you get weekend 2 for $30 (still a savings, and it rewards those who wanted both weekends regardless of who plays.

I could also see something like this working depending on the intricacies of your billing and software:
$30 gets you 2 days over the course of the 2 weekends
40$ gets you 3 days...etc
This would allow more 'casual' fans or those with scheduling conflicts to enjoy both matches without feeling like they are not getting their money's worth.

*plink**plink*
my 2 cents

I will be honest, I went in on the last PPV and I am gonna watch the JA/SVB and the Busty/? match but it will be a little tight for me to fit in the 1P or 10 ball. It is a bit more than I want to plunk down for the month, so am gonna pick and choose and the challenges make the cut.

I am gonna be in regardless on the challenge matches but...... if you do a package deal with the 10 ball too for like 80 bucks I would be in that too.
You could call it the repeat offender program......

I would wait, do not risk the loss.......he will be back.......were getting into the slow season for the pool world.......

go for it!

... he who hesitates is lost...

a package would be nice.. in fact.. SVB vs Archer winner vs Bustie...

PPV and DVDs of both mark me down at $225 ( I know I am dreaming).. but when the world ends and I am in the bunker running the generator.. I WILL have my TAR matches and a DVD player!

.. and maybe a extra .45 behind the emergency TP :D .. but I digress

I am afraid that TAR DVD's are like dinosaurs and me fitting into size 36 jeans..... a thing of the past.

go for it

The opportunity is there take advantage of it. Sometimes in business you need to take the chance. You now how to promote pool. You know what sells. You will not not if it will work if you don't take the chance.

If you have marketable people, which I would say you definitely do in both matches, people will find the way to pay the money to watch.

There is a substantial residual value to your productions. At some point, you will have the opportunity to monetize your back catalog through VOD or a provider who needs programming may wish to lease or purchase those rights. DVD releases are dead but the value of your company is in the rights not the product.

Building your catalog should be the top priority if it is within your means to do so. My suggestion is to think more like a music publisher.

I would buy the ppv. I can only speak for myself because it's a tuff economy out there. Johnnyt

Francisco the ultimate gambler, double the bet....

I would pay for Francisco vs Shane or Francisco vs Orcollo.

I have no interest in watching Johnny Archer.
many years ago yes, but not now.

That would be a whole lot of PPV's in a row and I'm very concerned people wouldn't or couldn't pay for that much pool in a short time. Between now and then we have the US Open 10 Ball event and TAR 26.

Do you do the match and take a big risk of losing money because people are burned out on PPV or let the opportunity go and try to do it at some point in the future but with no guarantee when ?

This whole model is possible because of the people who buy and support our matches and I really do not want to burn anyone out.

What would you do?
Having a match-up between Busty and SVB or Archer would be an exceptional opportunity.

Here are some ideas I have:
- Have a shorter event over one day instead of three days and modify the payouts accordingly.
- Tape the event and show the PPV at a future date.

i don't mean to sound like a hater and i like archer and i know he is a living legend but I avoid his videos on youtube because of his slow play. He must be told in a PPV format, he needs to speed his game up! Again im sorry if i sound like a hater and I don't mean to piss anyone off.
