I would argue the use of the word amateur in the same sentence or post with a thread related to myself and any type of video or electronic/computer equipment BUT I was once told that an Expert was just a little drip under pressure.

Well.. We are all amateurs really. I mean none of us are proving ESPN quality by any stretch of the imagination. Some of us are super close, mind you! That is exactly, in the future, of what the onesitepool.com network could become.

It is much harder for many, of not all of us, to produce what we're doing and at least generate enough revenue to cover costs. A crap ton of potential revenue is being tossed out the window because there is no other avenue currently to maximize it. We are essentially forced to throw the content out for free in the hopes that it will get a million views in the hands of others who don't give a rats ass about billiards. And in the interim of that content receiving enough views for good review and compensation, are being over ran with foreign advertisements generating millions of dollars. The billiard industry isn't receiving adequate compensation for this devilish practice.

If the billiard streamers banded together, and could get over the egotistical bulls$&T, and start a treasure trove of content protected by a Network of producers and broadcasters, then we would start seeing huge added tournaments like back in the days when ESPN was around. Then the players wouldn't be sweating their winnings, sweating how their going to the next big tournament, or sweating which sponsor is going to back them.

As a consumer there are two things I would like to see one day for pool. Whether it happens or not due to money or technology limitiations, I would love it.

1. I want a pool site up that is like beeg.com. This is porn site so dont look at work. That format would be great for pool reruns of old matches. It would also have the search categories for different games, venues, and events.

2. When someone puts on a tournament I would like to see a page formated similiar as above using 9 grid squares like the Brady Bunch. In the middle it would be the chat room and the outside squares would be tourney matches with one static camera. Commentating could remain at a feature table. As tournament winds down to less then 8 tables shrink the squares and use one for the commentating booth.

Good luck with what your trying to accomplish.

Well the limitations of doing that locally are none really. Except the cost of cameras and recording equipment. If you wanted all those cameras fixed, of course. If active with people PTZ'ing, probably not.

With the onsitepool.com you will have the opportunity to click and choose live content. We are deploying hi def streaming cameras into pool halls, and eventually will have as many as a hundred sites all over the country. Of course this service would have to be paid for, and addition to these services, would be attached to actual live events in full production.

Stay tuned.. We have some great ideas that will for sure generate a bunch of revenue for the players, sponsors, streamers! That is the exact intent of the onsitepool.com network.

Thanks for your response.

Zach.

Sure, I have something to contribute. I think you're drawing dead. You're not offering anything better than commercial sites. Even if you did, you've made the worst first impression ever and shown your ability to go full crazy. Nobody wants to work with that unless they are crazy themselves. Herman and TVMike sound like a perfect fit for you. Streaming for nobody to see... If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to watch it, did it make a sound? If TVMike streams pool and nobody watches it, did it even happen?

I made a great first impression. I am super proud of it.

Was my opening post formal and professional? Yes. Did you ridicule or sit anyone in the corner? No. Would it create opinions? Yes. Would AzBilliard members with 3,000 or more posts ridicule it? They Did. Would current streamers have questions? Yes. Did I answer them with great integrity and adequate information. Yes. Did I dish out ridicule in the same manner received? Yes. Did I even come close to going crazy? No. Will I? Maybe. Do I care? Not really. Do I studder? No. Am I honest? Yes. Do I physically contribute to the billiard community? Yes. Do I have more than 200 posts on AZbilliards? No.

And the drinking thing, that was more or less a joke. But on the real, if you cannot handle yourself as an adult, it really makes me wonder about your character and self control. Some people SHOULDN'T drink. They cannot handle it or themselves and it becomes a problem in their lives. I'm glad you have sobered up.

Well it's not a joke for me. Don't try and recuperate from your selfish comment. It was wrong, and there will be no excuse that you can produce to take it back. kthx. The best thing you can do is apologize.

I quit drinking for a number of health concerns. Thank you very much.

I know. It's saddening that holes are dug here. The funny part is, I'm not using the shovel. The holes here are already dug. A single individual would never have a chance against the ridicule here, hence the reasoning why it will prove what onsitepool.com will not do to individuals with dreams and passionate intentions.

Justin. If you would like to throw a stream at our servers when you're not busy, it would be super beneficial to us to see how the server reacts to a 300+ crowd. I could do it for our cost. The onsitepool.com servers are very close to the backbone. It's a drop in the bucket compared to what it costs currently. Just a thought.

Thanks.

Zach.

Zach, you and I have known each other for years, but you're coming off way wrong because you've brought this to market all wrong... I'm not a marketing genius but it would have been a much better approach to contact the key players (TAR, Lenny, Big Truck, Accu Stats) privately and make the pitch to them during their down time. You pitched it publicly, on a weekend, when streamers are busy trying to grind out a few $'s. Outside of TVMike, you really hadn't had a chance to work on your actual pitch and it certainly shows. Then you go on to denegrate all of the exact people you shouldn't from a business perspective, then want to turn the blame on nearly all who have posted in this thread saying that it's ridicule. Damn son, have 10 friends that are objective that will give you brutally honest opinions read this entire thread. Promise you that all 10 will tell you that you're the one out of line here and that you doomed yourself from post #1.... If you know me at all, you know that I'm the king of keeping it real.

There's nothing wrong with having a dream and believing in your product but theres one main reason why a business fails or succeeds, having the right people in the right positions. You're a great technical and creative guy but you're piss poor at selling. Look at Edison and Tesla.... Tesla doomed himself to obscurity because he tried to sell his product himself and he came off completly wrong to all of the right people. Edison stuck to what he was good at and delgeated the rest. Diamond tables is another good example.... Greg Sullivan had all of the right ideas and did okay selling for a few years but he evetually seen that he wasn't the gretaest at the operations of the business and sales/marketing. Once he realized that and Brian and Chad took over those positions Diamond has boomed and flourished ever since.

You bash Justin then pose "If you would like to throw a stream at our servers when you're not busy, it would be super beneficial to us to see how the server reacts to a 300+ crowd. I could do it for our cost."? You want to see how your server reacts to a 300+ crowd? Want to show off your product to the #1 guy in streaming pool? Ever hear of a free roll??? It's how business gets done... Literally every Fortune 500 company does it. And it's a big reason they went from obscurity to the 500 list. We have a great service, here's what we can provide, and to back it up and prove it to you, here, test drive it yourself....

Best advice I can give is find yourself a salesman to market your product.

I think $50 bucks, would be a free roll comparable to what is currently spent.

For the cost of a round of golf, you should just let him free roll on your dime. If I made the best fruit cake on earth and I wanted people to buy it, I'd shove a slice in their mouth. I wouldn't charge them my cost in sugar, gummy bears and flour.

In fact, throw him a cnote for his time and expert opinion for trying out your service. That's what I'd do.

I think you're legit crazy. You actually seem like a nice guy that feels ganged up on... and the crazy is coming out. Well, we are all crazy, just some more than others and it takes more to get it out of some. I have nothing to apologize for, so I wont. I didn't make any excuses for what I said... you can think of me as you want, I really don't care.

It sounds to me like you thought you saw a market you could corner because its "pool based" and people will use you because you play... it's like opening a pizza joint next to papa johns and label it as 'mom n pop to sucker in the locals. If you're pizza costs the same but doesnt taste as good... they are still gonna go to Papa Johns. So I would call your plan 'pizza boy logic'. Perhaps you're in the pizza business....? Another example is a vending machine. If you got Doritos in A7 for $.75 and Doritos in A8 for $1 but slap an 'organic' sticker on there, which one do you think will sell? Same product different price. That's 'vending machine logic'... I'm sure you've used vending machines, so you know what I'm saying.

All I'm saying is, you cannot compete with ustream etc.

I simply think you're drawing dead. You're plan is bad and I would guess you have limited experience. What do you do for a living? I would guess not in a computer based field. How many streams have you done?

I made a great first impression. I am super proud of it.

It is difficult to find fault in ourselves.

Here are a couple of classic books that you should consider reading, in the order presented :

http://www.amazon.com/How-Win-Frien...9191/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1337198957&sr=8-2

http://www.amazon.com/Elements-Styl...=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1337198994&sr=1-1

Please note that I am trying to help you. These two little books have helped me immensely (although I have stopped trying to make friends and now just let it happen )

Zach, it is extremely unlikely that I would sign up for your service. But my advice stands ... what you do with it is up to you.
