Thank you Johnnyt. I lost 10-9 in the finals... brutal. Oh well, I turned $55 into $700 and got to play pool.

It was a two day event. The predator tour is run pretty smoothly. I was on the winner side til the hotseat match, so I was done by like 7pm the first day and came back the next day at noon.

It's handicapped by games on the wire. Mostly like races to 7. ABCD ranking system. So a B gives a C 2 games on 7.
Finals I played the same guy that beat me for the hotseat. Qi Liu. He came into the toury as a B+, in hotseat match he was bumped to an A, then A+. He played great. Even getting bumped two spots, he beat me 10-8 for hotseat. Then I beat a dude to go to finals, play Qi Liu again. I got 5 games on 10. Quickly it was 7-2, I felt good. Then he hit his gear and I only got up to kick or jump. All of a sudden it's 7-7. Then 9-7. He got sloppy and handed me two games, so it's 9-9. I break dry. He goes back to being a robot and runs out.
I got the wire today he's here from North Carolina and plays better than advertised. He should be an "open" speed play, my source tells me. So if that's true, he robbed the tournament.
I could tell the games I won, he wanted me to win. He knew my limits. Oh well. I tried.

So, the only guy you lost to was an under-handicapped(or so it sounds) open-speed player? Doesn't sound too bad. It does kind of sound like he was leading you along, but I wasn't there. Good playing either way.
