Well its a round robin like the 8 ball with 6 players and should take place I think in 6 months or so. Who would your 6 be? I think this is very tough to make a selection but this is mine.

1. Reyes
2. Frost
3. SVB
4. Daulton
5. Ochoa

They're all capable of winning, but if you held this tourney a hundred times, I'd say it's a coin toss between SVB and the Lion as to who wins the most.
 
I really think Sylver deserves to be able to play in something like this. I'd also like to see Shannon swinging it.
 
I'd like to see these 5 players in no particular order.

1. Reyes
2. Frost
3. SVB
4. Daulton
5. Pagulayan

The other spot would be a toss up among several players. I don't keep up with one pocket enough to know who the other top players are, but I do have an accu-stats one pocket video with Shannon Daulton vs Hillbilly Charlie Bryant, and Hillbilly played some of the most creative one pockets I've ever seen, other than what I've seen Efren do. I'd probably pick Hillbilly for the #6 spot.
 
No Bustamante on your list? He's finished in the top 5 multiple times at the derby, got third twice.

I think Django's one pocket game is very underrated by most.
 
Main thing avoid players that tends to play up table wedge game most of times. Or put a rule if all or half the balls up table and players need more than 5 balls to win, re rack and break again. Just a thought.

If I could add more guys I would, I could have before I started the poll and should have. Sorry guys. The real voting will be through Accu-stats and you guys making it happen, that is how the 6 got picked for the 8 ball, people voted with their wallets. :grin:

I'm going to go against the flow here and say that, as a 1pocket aficionado, there is *a lot* to be learned from the guys who can put on an astounding display of intelligent moving and sublime finesse, as opposed to the guys who have abnormal firepower and ball running capability. IOW, if you want to learn something that you can apply to your own game, as a normal human being, I think two great players to have in the mix would be Ike Runnels and Cliff Joyner.

I agree, I guess I was just posting the more popular players so to speak and current top dogs. I like Gentiles game quite a bit for the intelligence of it all, the average guy can learn a ton from the simple and smart stuff he does. Rafael Martinez is great for his creativity that is for sure but if people watched him play one pocket they would be going off the air quite a bit more than they should.

One person who has to be in consideration also who has not been mentioned in Danny Smith, he is something else along with Joey Gray. I also like Appleton who is just playing super solid in every game. There are just so many of them, perhaps as we get closer I can do a new poll with all the names mentioned in here and people can pick their 6 from all of them.
 
Busta and others please! since 85 he and efren have been spoting guys 15-5.

Theres a bunch of old timers who in one pocket , don't have to come with the big nine ball shape shots. Allen Hopkins, Buddy Hall, Ronney Allen, and another 350 players who show up for the derby. Corey duel,John schmidt, Danny Harryman, Ronnie alcano - The chinese and filippino contingents, and JP. great idea for the Movies of accustats! mark
