Getting banned - what does it take

yOU HAVE TO BE A REAL BIG ass_____ to get yourself banned anywhere,no exceptions here,Mr.Wilson is a stand up dude, he will give you warnings and if you dont listen then you will get what your looking for, because to me if you get banned here, you were asking for it!

'wilson' didn't ban a "registered" member who repeatedly violated five different items of the following "forum rule" but instead banned the non-"registered" member who was the target of those attacks:

"By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws."

Your above statement is poop.

Sounds like an average day on the innarnetz.

This is boilerplate that you find on all forums. If the moderators were to enforce this clause then most of the actively posting members on AZ would be banned.

Point out the specific thread, post, or user... and I bet we can find there's some context there you're missing. for example the ban victim likes to say stuff that provokes swearing tirades, then pretends like he's the innocent party (aka trolling).

In the years I've been on here, I've seen a few guys get lucky and NOT get banned when it would be justified... but I've never once seen an example of a guy just walking along, minding his own business, being civil, and suddenly getting banned. They were always pushing someone's buttons.

Obvious you havent been around long enough,to answer this question or any others, unless you were an unregister user for awile, then your answers would hold some merit, but all that to the side, iam glad that you are a member now and you and i have the same priviliges as everyone else here has,i never seen any favortisim as long as i been here, i was a non member for 2years and a member for how ever long now.

I believe if some members dont like and agree with certain threads, they would save a whole bunch of headaches and bad langauge(spell) back n forth, just not to post in those thread, and that would lead to a whole lot less banning, but i know and a lot of you guys know, that alot of posters are here to disagree, no matter what!

A few will get it....

I still feel this specific ban was a travesty.

One ban of Wilson's that I disagree with.

Though most are on target.

Impossible to do because 'wilson' deleted the threads to protect the privileged 'registered' member. So your request simply proves my point. The non-'registered' member was entirely civil while I watched the 'registered' member frothing at the mouth with vulgar obscenities. The non-'registered' member then disappeared, so did the threads, and the 'registered' (and privileged) toilet-mouth kept posting.

I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about- what questions and what answers are you referring to?

And find out what a registered member is. Then you'll understand what I'm talking about. Hint: $

What do you mean by registered member? Do you mean the members who donate to the site vs. the ones who don't? Those members are designated as club members and that has traditionally been of zero protection against banning.

You don't remember any names? For either party? I can just about guarantee there's some backstory here. It could be as simple as the banned guy was a 2nd account who was already banned previously.

Then you should be talking to 'wilson'. Tell him to restore the threads. He knows which ones they are. If your so-called backstory is in favor of you and 'wilson' why did he delete them in the first place? Pretty simple deduction when someone thinks about it, isn't it?

In any case, I've decided I won't be spending much time here for the reasons already stated. Doesn't matter to me what you do.

Hadn't planned to do anything since I don't have any problem with the forum... no special urge to get to the bottom of a banning when I have no idea who was involved or what it was about.

But sorry to hear you have a sour impression of it. If this is your first account, then it looks like you've only been here a month. You should give it a little more time before you write off AZB.

Given the nature and tone of his posts, methinks this isn't his first identity here.

Referring to Mr. Wilson as "Wilson".... you can go weeks without seeing Mr. Wilson make a post here, certainly not one about a banning or warning a troublemaker. Using just his surname indicates familiarity. At least to me.

To generate such a sour opinion of Mr. Wilson and accounts being banned in a month, hmmmmmmmm.......?

Well, unless you tell us what user name you used before being banned, we won't know if we should be upset you aren't sticking around or glad that your gone!
