Ok
I need to make some joint collars and a butt cap for a jump cue.
Does anyone have a source for .750 id rings by an inch long?

Why dont you build them? You have to make some chips with that new lathe of yours;-)

Sure...name the time

Maybe next week?
I really could use a pointer or 2

Yeah I remember that, it was someones attempt at a "quality" repair:rolleyes:. They tried to take the predator technology out the predator lol

I'm going to get some aluminum stock and build my own rings.
Hopefully metal superstore has some.
My laziness wasnt rewarded this time :)
I wonder if my repair on that ferrule held up ;)

I never stayed long enough at that tourney to see how you did the repair but I am sure you did a lot better than the last guy lol. As to your rings that new metal lathe of yours should make quick work of those rings I am sure. If you do need help with anything just pm me and between the two of us I am sure we can figure it out.

If you run into troubles let me know the specs and I'll turn some aluminum for you. I can't make a cue (OK, I can make a jump cue that doesn't jump) but can turn aluminum with the best of the home-metal-bashers some days.

Dave <-- the Saskatoon Snail .... just ask Jimbo

Thanks Dave.
I have a millwright buddy that turned me some today :)
I really didn't want to get metal dust on my metal lathe :)

I would check a large hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot. I have bought tubes / pipe material made from Aluminum and cut / borded the ID to size.

Hope this helps.

I have what I need coming.
I was being lazy, hoping someone had what I needed
But alas it was not meant to be.
I had a buddy turn a chunk of 2" round stock to 1-3/8 so I can make them myself.

Thanks Dave.

I feel the same about wood on mine .... mostly.

Ha ha,
Thanks Jim
That's like 50% cleaner than normal :)
I've already cleaned and dirtied that lathe again

I built what I needed.

You get two points on yer man card for that. That statement is tremendous and rings loud and clear. You do what many of us simply cannot do.

And making a mess is part of the deal from what I hear. If it looked too clean I would be suspicious! :D
