What is the greatest compliment someone has given you?

Let's see....you are the bank master, you are a dangerous man at the table, I had to do that to keep you from getting back to the table and a few more.

I know it's hard to believe that I just might know a thing or two about playing being just a banger and all, but to the people that have played me, they know different.

"You look really young"

This sweet, beautiful girl told me one time "you look really young, I bet you're not much older than my dad".... :groucho:

I think mine was from Johnny Archer in 1992. He said "nice shot" when I was playing him. That isn't much but considering he was the world champion at the time it meant a lot to me.

The other night,
Mark Cantrell, Nick Varner, and Johnny Archer were in town at the Big Easy pool hall. Mark tells me he wants to sigh my cue.
JoeyA ask Mark did he realize that I was Lock N Load from Coast to Coast and that he should ask for my autograph! Priceless! Thanks JoeyA.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

I was training with Hal Mix and he says "you stroke and play just like that f***ing Kim Davenport"

I'm not sure if it was meant to be a compliment but I took it that way.

I know what you mean! Once, when I was a teenager, I wired my Dad that I needed some money to get out of a fix I was in overseas. He wired back six words: Too bad. So sad. Your Dad. LMAO...although at the time I didn't think it was so funny!

Yow I knew that..lol:grin:
My Dad told me once ,son if you dont stop being so stupid,it could become permanent.I think he was rite.

the greatest compliment anyone can give, a sincere "Thank you"

I assume

this is Pool related compliments.

That was when Buddy Hall told me I could not have the 7 ball anymore, he would give me the 8, but not the 7.

The other one that stands out when I was playing a very good local player, and we are matched up, he said "You are the most mentally tough player I have ever played".

Rodney Morris told me that he learned some shots from me, from our 1pocket match that he won 3-1 in 2010 at dcc, at the time i didnt care much about hearing that, cause i felt i gave the match away, it was the difference of finishing 48th or 33rd i think, but after the smoke cleared i realize it was a nice jester for him to say to me, Rodney is a great guy with him giving his opponent lots of respect while playing!

That's funny! I only spoke to Hal once but I liked the way he thought and talked.

Easy one...midway thru a bar box 8 ball tourney in spring 2012....I made a nice shot to get shape on the 8...one buddy of mine turns to my 12 yr old and says...."kid did u know ur dad is the best 8 ball player in the building" nice enough right? My son says without hesitation "my dad is the best 8 ball player in the world"....about 5 seconds before I dogged the 8 straight in the side pocket....on a brighter note that was last game my opponent won 5-1 for me....couldn't fade the flattery I guess....lol

Hey Snapshot9,
That is a great compliment coming from Buddy. He called me last night. Said he was back in stroke. I am not going to tell you what I offered Buddy!
Is everything going well for you and the family? Nice post.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Last Monday... "SHE'S NO DAMN 2!!!" Hollered in my direction.
The first time I played 10 ball, I called and completed a 3 ball combo in to the 10 off the 5 on a kick from the bottom of the table to the top and back down.

The greatest compliment I receive is when I'm playing league and when captains of other teams ask me to come watch for bad hits. Basically they are telling you they trust your ability to make an accurate call and they trust you to not be biased toward one player or the other.

Jeannete Lee

I really thought I'd get a nice compliment from Jeannete Lee but boy was i WRONG! What happened was...being in a generous mood,I'd thought share with her how I execute some of my inside-spin shots jacked from the rail. So anyway,I went ahead fired in this table-lenght 3 railer thinking she'd be impressed and saying something like "That was totally AWESOME! You have to show me how you did that!"

But NOOoooo!! All she said was..."HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET IN MY HOUSE!!"

I was so mad,I decided to stop stalking her.
