2 new toys for Big Tattoo

Guerra Cues

I build one cue at a time

Hello,

Here are two new toys for Ralf.

First cue is a brazilian rosewood forearm and butt sleeve with an amboyna burl segmented handle with sleeved 3/8 x 10 joint.

The cue features an extension (not pictured, I will add the picture later on).

The shafts are bowling alley with 0.5" ferrules.

The second cue is a "hoppe" kamphi rosewood forearm cored with cocobolo and the long handle is the Alaskan maple or silver maple (the correct name), cored with purpleheart.

One shaft is bowling alley and the other is regular snow white maple.

The cue is just about packed and ready to go, just waiting on the extension to dry after I applied the clear coat.

I know the pics are not the best ones but before the cue gets delivered to the post office I will try to take some new ones with daylight and post them over the weekend.

Hi Tony,

Beautiful cues once again! The woods that you use are always amazing. Nothing second rate.

What wood was used for the forearm and butt sleeve of the first cue?

Congratulations to Ralf. We knew you had something coming.

Best regards,
Greg

Yep... Forgot to mention that and just got it corrected. Forearm and butt sleeve is brazilian rosewood.

Thanks Rick.

The chuck only helps on certain jobs on the cue and gives me repeatability, the rest is up to all the remaining machinery that I use and my Portuguese ingenuity

Thanks for all the cool comments guys. I have better pictures that I will post over the weekend.

Ralf asked me for a longer shaft taper and slimmer butts. I like it...

Tony is a nice talking Cue Maker on the Phone, I always enjoy it at 6 or 7 am:

Very nice looking cues. I really think it's cool how you evenly split the second cue. Very creative.

What is the joint material on the first cue? Is it white phenolic? If so, that pretty cool.

Congrats Ralf.

Just updated the pictures and included the picture of the cue extension. My first cue extension.
5/16 x 14 pin that will screw into the the bumper of the cue.
Still looking for the updated pictures of the amboyna burl cue... Will post them in a bit...
