2012 Mosconi Cup U.S. Team members....

England's on a different time so it should be any time now.

Is supposed to be announced TODAY...(CJ quit holding out!)

I'm certainly not holding out. Just waiting on the "green light" from England (Matchroom Sport) to announce the players.

They got information earlier for the press release and England's on a different time so it should be any time now.

Luke hotline....

thanks

There's seemingly always a surprise or two from Luke/Barry of Matchroom! Can't wait for this one!

KK9 <-- thinks M Cup is the bomb of all bombs in pool

Well, I don't know the difference in time zones.....but it's much too long.

Out with it!!! :)

Yes, agree. Of course we know two members for team USA. I am just pulling for The Hatchetman, we really need his fire, IMHO. Hope he is a lock, think he finished maybe 3rd in the points?

Best wishes and go get 'em. Congrats in advance to all the selections and Captain CJ.

Peace.

P.S. Maybe SVB should give some tips on the 9-ball break to the team? Would like to see that corner ball lift into the pocket every time, and the full front power break as opposed to a cut-break takes care of the headstring rule...

It's rack the 9-ball on the spot, so I'm assuming everbody will be using the cut break.

Gotcha, wasn't aware of that, or had forgotten. Guess that changes that suggestion altogether. Thanks for the reminder / correction. :)

one of our MC TEAM Players is in the bad weather

Luke hotline....

thanks

Luke contacted me and one of our MC TEAM Players is in the bad weather and he needs a quote from him for the press release.

I think we can all understand how bad this storm is on the EAST coast so the teams will be announced later today I"m sure.

thanks for everyone's patience...

I just saw something online saying the team was announced. The team is...Shane Van Boening, Mike Dechaine, Johnny Archer, Dennis Hatch, and Brandon Shuff! I really hope this is true because I think this is a very solid team for the USA!

Ooh! Bad weather? Hmm. Could it be...DENNIS HATCH!

This just in...

Hey, looks like AzBilliards is slow on the draw ---> Team USA

Our Team USA is, as follows: Shane, Brandon, Dennis, Johnny, and Mike Dechaine.

I'd like to see one of those Boxing Brits get mouthy with Dennis Hatch.

Will somebody please help me understand this. Matchroom institutes the "3 balls past the headstring" rule AND the "9 on the spot" rule. Is this two rules to try and fix the same problem, or is each rule for a different problem?

I noticed last year that there were a lot of illegal breaks. Of course, maybe that's considered a good thing as it makes things more interesting from the audience perspective.

BTW, why couldn't the Mosconi Cup just switch to 10-ball?

Fatz <-- just kinda OK with 9-ball

It's always nice to see dedication pay off and be rewarded.

It was actually Brandon. I'm happy to see him make the team, I know personally he's been working very hard to reach the next level. It's always nice to see dedication pay off and be rewarded. imho

9 on the spot to stop the corner ball and the 3 ball rule to keep them from "soft breaking" and playing the 1 in the side. All these guys break really good, and I'm not a big fan of the "cut break", so hmmm......

9 Ball is still the best game for TV in many people's opinion. If the break isn't working in 10 Ball you have a lot of LONG drawn out games.

Good luck US! I still don't see the Euro Team posted here...
Has been decided yet?
Thanks
