FOLLOWING on from his undefeated run through the recent US Open 9 Ball Championship,
SHANE VAN BOENING cemented his place at the head of the American 2012 PartyPoker.com
Mosconi Cup rankings to secure his spot on the team as one of the top two automatic
spots.

I'm so happy to be on my 6th appearance as Mosconi USA team member. As I
just won the US Open, I know I$B!G(Jm playing well this year and will try my best
to help the team take home the title!

Such was Van Boening dominance of the five event series that he beat the
second placed player MIKE DECHAINE by an incredible 218 points. In his previous five
Mosconi Cup appearances, the South Dakota Kid sports a record of 12 wins from 26
matches.

For second placed Dechaine it will be a return to the team following on from his
debut in Las Vegas last year and he will be relishing the chance to show what he can
do in front of a partisan, sold-out crowd at the York Hall, London from 10th - 13th
December.

I am very excited to compete in my second consecutive Mosconi Cup,
especially with this one being in London. With the crowds being heavily in Europe's
favour, this is without a doubt the team I'd want going against it and I$B!G(Jm
very confident that we will bring home the gold, said Dechaine.

The first of the remaining three wildcard picks is Virginia BRANDON SHUFF
who caps off a fine season to make his Mosconi Cup debut at the age of 29.
"When I was growing up, it was an American pool player$B!G(Js dream to play on the
Mosconi Cup. This is definitely a blessing and hard work is paying off and I'm
excited for this accomplishment and I'll be training hard to help our team
bring that Cup back where it belongs," said a delighted Shuff.

Back for his third Mosconi Cup is DENNIS HATCH. An MVP on his debut in 2009 when his
gung-ho team spirit and never-say-die attitude helped propel the team to victory,
Hatch will be hoping for a successful return to the York Hall where he made his last
Mosconi Cup appearance in 2010.

Hatch is up for it as ever; It's always an honour and privilege to
represent the USA and with that said, I am so fired up and hungry that the only
thing I plan on tasting while in Europe is VICTORY, because I believe this is one of
the best teams yet!

The final spot in the team is filled by Georgia's JOHNNY ARCHER who will be
making a record-breaking 16th consecutive Mosconi Cup appearance. Sporting a 53% win
record, The Scorpion made his debut at the event in 1996 and has been an
ever-present since.

"It is an honour to represent the USA team for my 16th straight year and I will do
whatever it takes to help the boys take that cup from York Hall and bring it back to
America where it belongs" he said.

It is interesting how Matchroom Sports chose Johnny Archer over Oscar, Stevie, Shawn, Rodney, and Corey, when they were ranked higher, according to the ranking list.

The Final Ranking

2. Mike Dechaine - 328

Congratulations to Brandon Shuff! The team is awesome. It has the talent of SVB and MD, the flair of Dennis Hatch, the experience and team spirit of Archer, the glue that will keep the team together.

Has the European team been announced yet?

Way to go Shuff!!!

For sure! Brandon Shuff has definitely paid his dues. It is nice to see him rewarded with the ultimate pool-playing experience. To have it in York will even be a better thrill, I'd imagine.

I hope C.J. keeps the players focused and practicing together as a team. Thankfully, there's not as many attractive distractions in York as there are in Vegas.

Personally Brandon's level of positive thinking will be great for the team. Only problems could be egos but JA can keep that in check. Very young and fire powered filled team!! Can't wait to see what happens

I'm thinking Mike and Dennis as partners could be REALLY interesting....and I bet they do well!

Is it interesting, though?

U.s.a.!!

Awesome squad,,,prediction,,,Dennis Hatch will carry team U.S.A . again and take M.V.P. Honors for a second time,,,,!!

Team captain cj wiley needs to take the team shopping for their victory pictures!

Get them all tailored up and comfortable. Get a fashion consultant. But, cj has style and dresses nice to me but matchroom may have to approve the outfits.

Was not fond of last years attire! I love the snooker look of vest and dress shirt. No tie of course.

Less likely to fight in professional dress attire. That was a joke. I am sure someone somewhere is upset by the remarks.

I'm pleased with these selections. Team America is highlighted by three twenty-somethings in Van Boening, Dechaine, and Shuff, and rounded out by two elder statesmen of the game in Archer and Hatch. I think it's a nice mix of youth and experience and Team America should have a good shot.

Some were displeased with the Archer pick, but not me. He played rock solid pool at the just-completed US Open 9-ball event, so he's in good form right now. Also, let's not forget that Johnny beat Van Boening in two out of three races to 25 in TAR 26 in May. That might not have earned him any Mosconi Cup ranking points, but I feel it should be weighed in evidence when considering his worthiness. Johnny also beat Van Boening in the US Open 10-ball event.

Good luck to CJ Wiley and Team America in bringing home the Mosconi Cup.

Do I really have to wait six weeks for the event to begin? Geez, that's a real downer.

Oscar got screwed. Nothing like resting on your lorals, and still getting in when you haven't played a lick compared to the 4 guys above you. This Johnny pick is garbage. You should have to play your way in, period!

Jeez guys, I wonder how we can change the image of pool...

sincerely disappointed,

Justin

I got no dog in this race.
I'm not too fond of the ABP.
I've only talked to JA a few times over the years.

But I think Johnny Archer is a good choice...
...he's the rock on this team.

I think the team is great. That said, JA should not have been picked. After 15 (or whatever) consecutive appearances, let someone else have a chance who has more points. I think OD or SM should have been picked. I mean, JA has a 53% win percent - that's barely holding your own.

Anyways, I love the pick for captain as well as the other 4 players. So overall, I'm very excited about this year's mosconi cup.
