It may have only been in the test match, but the shot clock was running as they were spotting the BB and their wardrobe was not conducive to quick movements.

Good eye. The software ran on a 6 second delay after each shot. It is being adjusted to only restart the timer after the last ball stops rolling, or as the ball is spotted.

I think having these women spot the ball is like having a cheerleader (or any other unofficial person) place the football on the scrimmage line.

Unlike cheerleaders and ring girls, these women do affect the game. It may have only been in the test match, but the shot clock was running as they were spotting the BB and their wardrobe was not conducive to quick movements.

I believe the shot clock starts when the ball is spotted but if that is not the case then it should be. I do not think the ladies spotting the ball affects the game especially on the spot, it is highly unlikely that someone can mess that up. Like I said to each their own, some people dislike the ring girls and cheerleaders too. The Bonus Ball girls have more clothes and less skin showing then any of the ladies mentioned in other organizations, check out the paddock girls for motorcycle racing.

It reminds me of when they tried to put "Pro gaming" on t.v. It has that same feel to me, and that did not work out at all. It's as if they are trying to hard to make it cool or something and just throwing a lot of cliche things in just because. Maybe with more time it will seem more natural to everyone involved, but it just seems like everyone, minus the players, are trying to hard to make it intense. It is always hard making something appeal to the masses while keeping the previous fans happy. Keeping that in mind there still may be something here, and it's nice to see people trying to get something bigger going, we will just have to wait and see how it goes!

It's pretty easy to predict that anyone who invests millions into pool is unlikely to get a good ROI.

I think that's what makes me admire the men working on this. I've always thought if I won a mega millions I would help the pros out for all the years of entertainment they have given me.

I'm not on the payroll but I LOVE the game. In fact I'm going to order a ball set right now. :)

I think that is the key to wait and see what happens with it, it might flop like some think or it might be the biggest thing for pool ever. What some of us think are great such as watching pool matches online others might think are boring and terrible, that goes for many things though. I just think people who love cue sports should give it a chance and just check out the free shows and if they like it buy some PPVs.

One thing is for sure you cannot make everyone happy and some people will always have complaints or find fault in everything done. I think constructive criticism is good and those in charge are listening to what people are saying and taking things away from it too.

You can like the women or not like, it does not matter. The secret will be the viewers understanding the game and rules.

Will some adjustments be needed? Probably, big deal.

If the viewers start to eat it up it will be good for the industry. If you have a better idea than Archer bring it to the level he already has.

In the USA other than the best in the World few Pros in Pool can eat if they don't gamble. If your 125th in Golf, your a Millionare.

To not support this attempt is to not support Pool because when you walk the circle it brings you back to all Pool.

Who's with me?

Btw I would buy the whole season of ppvs if I could watch them on demand.

It's already programmed. :)

EDIT: Just to clarify, the first part of the front-end of our website may have just gone up this week, but the back-end has been coded for months.

One of the things that helped me follow the rules regarding what order the balls come is that purple is the 4 ball orange is the 5 and black is the 8. So you shoot the sequence in numerical order.

The thing that blew my mind the most about the IPT was no shot clock. Playing for $500,000 the players took forever to decide and the few people in the stands looked suicidal.

Watching the USA vs Canada Bonus Ball match and being able to see the time running out was sweet. After that I randomly found Shane vs Dechaine at turning stone on YouTube with no shot clock and five minutes of racking nightmares per rack.

It was like the time I watched passenger 57 right after watching Silence of the Lambs for the first time.

After watching the USA-Canada match, I think I would have been more entertained if those two lovely ladies did all the shooting.

One of the most common discussions on this forum is how to improve pool. Someone finally comes along, throws a lot of money and effort at the game, and this is how you respond?

Rather than applaud the naysayers that scream "idiot" and "stupid", how about you offer some respectful and constructive criticism?

"nice effort, but I think it would be better if you did..."

Sure, you might do things differently, but at the end of the day, the reality is that people are out there investing time and money in attempt to bring positive change. What exactly are you doing?

PS. If it helps, the idea for models was made just hours before the promo. There was no time to choose specific girls or outfits. As with the entire promo, everything was temporary and will obviously be improved in the real production.

Here's your constructive criticism (keep in mind I'm a fan of your work in general, but the inclusion of hot ladies should be done carefully to not come across as cheap): Without the women dressed poorly, I would have watched the whole thing and enjoyed it thoroughly. With the women dressed poorly, I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it slightly less. Honestly, even if they were wearing jeans and black t-shirts, with "ref" on the back, I would have been happier. It's not un-watchable, I was just disappointed with that aspect. I'm a consumer here, so take that for what it's worth.

No disrespect intended, it was just one aspect that glared out at me as a big mistake. It's my first impression, so if they're not in any future productions as they were in this one, I'll be in line for some DVDs or digital copies.

I know I busted your balls earlier about the comment, but in all honesty, I'm on exactly the same page as you on this one. My whole camera crew wasn't a fan of those girls (more so the outfits and hair) and almost requested that they be cancelled, but at the time of the filming this aspect was being handled by someone else. I'm hoping Larry gives me full creative control from here on out so that we can avoid this sort of thing next time around.

The game is growing in leaps and bounds! It won't be fading away, it's gaining momentum where ever I teach it! There are more intelligent billiard players out there than people give credit. Predicting failure of anything new is much easier than predicting success.

It has been said before, the ladies were a surprise addition to the show and that is all it was. A show. Like them or not, it's Las Vegas and that is the theme. They are not going to be part of league play so relax. This is a real game and it's being played by real professionals. It is a very well structured game. It has been developed by the greatest minds in the industry, the professional players. It finally brings back scoring like the way it used to be. I teach ten year olds the game and they learn it immediately so how someone can say it's too difficult is beyond me. Bottom line, if it bores you, then turn the channel or head down to your local pool hall and support them before they all close! Do something positive for the game I love!

Thank you Lee for your support and I promise you this, your going to have many hours of fun with this game. How could you not? It's got all the very best of all billiards wrapped into one. Your game will improve rapidly and you will enjoy that immensely. I never won an eight ball tournament in my life until this year. Now I rarely finish out of the money. If i do struggle, it's because the simplicity of the game does me in. In Bonus Ball, I get beat by the player. I see many options because of the game of Bonus Ball forces you to make many, many new shots. I never met a top player that doesn't recognize the great things about this game. I remember a fellow player saying to me "wow, this game really has merit!" Your dam right! Play the game and you will get better!

I understand your point Tom, I really do. However, I don't find Bonus Ball entertaining. Honestly I think the folks are trying to hard to cram it down our throats all in the name of marketing. What I've seen here on AZB is when someone offers constructive criticism or when they say they don't care for it they are often slighted or lambasted and told to get with the program because Bonus Ball is exciting, great for the game and any other one liner a used car salesman might use to describe why it's the best thing since sliced bread.

One can call Bacon, Confit of Pork Belly but it's still Bacon and dressing it up won't change what it is.

I have watched the USA vs Canada match more than a few times and I am not entertained. I may check out a stream once their 'season' gets going but I don't believe I will ever buy a PPV of Bonus Ball.

I watched it being played live at Johnny Archer's room in Marietta and I didn't really care for it then and my opinion hasn't changed from watching the streams.

I do wish the folks who have invested their time and money into this much success but I believe the odds are against them.
