U.S. Open Checks Bounced???

I've written checks in felt tip before & there was never any problem. I know I'm one of Barry's biggest defenders although I do know the things he's done, I really hope there's some other explanation....

Yeah, I couldn't quite grasp what Chris was stating either (them English blokes write in a foreign language to me, lol). And there's a big difference between a fraudulent check and an NSF.

I do know that there was a gentleman at The Open handwriting checks to players (hence the felt tip pen Chris referenced).

The sad saga continues...

The gentleman that was handwriting the checks was ME! and I Used a PEN, I am not the one who SIGNED the check, lets get the FACTS right!

The Commonwealth of Virginia law states the following:

Written Notice

When the holder of a bad check provides written notice to the issuer of the check and the issuer does not pay the amount within 30 days, the holder is entitled to up to three times the amount of the check plus check charges and the $25.00 processing fee.

I would send my written letter certified mail and go the extra step of researching where the us open is incorporated and send notice to the person of record for the corporation.

A lot depends on if it is a personal check or corporate check?

I would call the bank for additional information on the type of account the check was issued from and obtain confirmation the check was issued by the bank?

Never said you signed the check, just that I saw you writing them. I didn't take note of the year, make & model of the pen - just that they were being written - not printed.

There was no intent to throw you under the bus - heck, I even called you a gentleman.

Also the us open maybe a LLC or limited liability company. Bb could claim a salary and be the only creditor Paid and all the players as creditors dangling in the wind. Good luck fighting over the assets in bankruptcy court!

A really bad situation!!!

KoolKat9Lives, True, but it was implied since you put "(hence the felt tip pen Chris referenced)."

All Good, Just want to be sure ...

To be fair (ha!), on Nov. 5 the Behrman's said: "We now commit to pay every player their full due by no later than Tuesday, November 13, ..."

The 13th was just yesterday. So it might take some time to learn whether the commitment was upheld. Chris Melling's problems may have occurred prior to the 13th.

just want to say that things could have changed but not too long ago i know you could hand draw a check on any paper and if all the info was there the check had to be honored.

I just got an e-mail from Bank of America. You can take a picture of a check with your cell phone, and deposit it that way.
