Are you sure those are re-cuts? Dave mills his own veneers out of wood stock and not dyed veneers like most cuemakers.

Good luck with your bidding.

Have to be veneers. I've never seen recuts that were all even and that small.. like most veneers are. Sweet cue regardless!!

First I would like to say this is a very nice looking cue. Barenbrugge cue are top notch player. Only need to correct your description. Those are not re-cuts, they all are veneers, Just like CMD mentioned, Dave mills his own veneer out of wood blanks. Also, the ring work is level 3 ring work from Dave.

There are no glue joints anywhere on the end of the points that I can see and the grain in the points run straight across where a joint would be. Recuts can be thin like veneers, so the thickness would not convince me of them being veneers. Maybe a few more pictures of the point ends would help show whether they really are recuts compared to traditional veneers. It is a beautiful cue either way.

From the look of it, it does look like recut but they are actually veneer from wood blanks that Dave mill himself.
When there no glue line on the veneers don't mean they are recuts, it means perfect veneer work & craftsmanship.
This cue deserves a bump to the top. Not many of you knows Barenbrugge works & here a chance to get a close up look at the superior veneer work.

From the pics they look like recuts to me.....

Great looking cue!!!!

Like Tommy was saying Dave Barenbrugge mills square wood blanks into L shaped channels to the thickness shown. The channels are glued in along with the point wood and turned. It is a very painstaking process and substantially similar to the method Dennis Searing now uses on his veneered pointed cues to achieve seamless results. I hope this makes sense to y'all. Superb looking Barenbrugge cue. Dave has great snakewood and ebony. The black leather wrap is probably Spanish Bull.

Basically, we are talking about the same thing then. If he mills square blanks into cannels, they aren't traditional veneers and they aren't conventional recuts either. It is kind of a combination of both.

I dont know what the difference is..... if he mills the points before and then glues them together or if he das the recuts.....
Weather way you want it..... lol
It is a gorgeous cue
