Dechaine vs Feijen grudge match

Mike Dechaine and Brandon Shuff are very good players with very good reumes. They are the future of the sport. They both have won tournaments at a pro level and have had real nice wins gambling. On another note, in the world we live into today, the international pool seen is very very strong. There are players across the pond we have never even heard of that could spot these guys gambling. Niels plays against these guys on a regular basis. He is playing world class players from China, Japan, Philphines, and Europe. He is a better player than Mike Dechaine.

Mike very well could be spotting Niels in a year or two. But right now. He is not gonna get there.

I agree, what I was seeing in his play was a lack of seasoning.

I'd love to get a bet in on Neils if this ever goes down...I'll empty out if the game is 14.1.

I was responding to the fact that he said they would've won it all if Oscar was in place of Shuff. Which again is ridiculous considering the Cup is won in a team effort.

Jeez, can you dial it back? Thug (politely) said Dechaine is getting a lot of flak but he's young and just needs to have a sort of moment of inspiration.

Suggesting someone else might have done better than shuff... those aren't fightin' words, it's a fair statement. Yeah, it's a team sport, but sometimes one guy makes all the difference. That's why they have an MVP award.

IMO, you can't field a team with two nervous newcomers. Having one is ok... it can't be the same players year after year. But with two, there's a big burden on the vets to carry them, coach them through their nerves, and stack up wins to offset the inevitable rough patches.

Do they have a history of gambling each other? If so, I see how it's a grudge match or do they just have a distaste for one another.

I really like Niels, he's a pretty classy player the time's I've been around him while playing.

I don't know if Feijen gambles, but I'm sure Mike would play him. And I would bet on Mike playing playing 10ball. If they play, let me know who wants some action. Anyone but Tommy...

Feijen would horsef@#$ Dechaine.

If you are going by how he played in his Mosconi Cup matches you are in for a surprise. Remember Mike is the guy that ran out a set of 10-ball (I think he ran 8 racks) when he played Archer in a tournament. He also put up a bunch of 4+ packs in tournaments. Race to 5 alternate break is not a judge of skill. How many kicks were made and then got an unlucky scratch? A simple unlucky shot like that often means you are 2 games down in alternate break.

Yes, Mike played horribly in the Cup, he played well under his ability and cost US several points where they should have won (doubles match with Shuff on the hill and he missed a pretty easy 6 ball for the win is one). But he is pretty much even with anyone else you can match him with. I would say he is an underdog with only a handful of players, Neils is not one of those.

This was Dechaine's second Mosconi Cup in a row, he played bad in this one though. We need 5 Archers hehe.

I agree. From an instructor's observational point of view, NF has better mechanics and a much stronger mental game.

NF and DA, despite losing that one match, may be one of the strongest duos ever.

While this is a nice long list, how does it show that he's better than Dechaine? For all we know, the "Leids Open" had 45 C players and Neils. Toyota has won a lot of awards also, but how many people would list one as their top pick if they could choose any car?

Oh yeah, black-balled...Mike's won the "New England 9-Ball Series Stop", "SE Open 9-Ball Tour Stop", "UPA World Summit of Pool", "Larry Lisciotti Memorial", and the "Robert Dionne Memorial". Stuff that!

'Bundesliga Season '11/'12 with BC Oberhausen'

all you need to know!:grin::grin:

Sheer tournament experience alone should tell you this guy will probably feel less pressure than whoever he's playing, because he's in tournaments (and on TV) allllll the timeeeee. Also, did someone say 15-pack? Holy shit. And 259 in straight pool.

Not bad for a guy who's apparently mostly blind in one eye.
