Is There Some Hidden -or- Special Meaning To Your Unusual Az Name / Avatar?

I used to ride and race a Ducati 900ss. Big duc fan. So a female friend started calling me duckie, just kinda stuck.

My full name is Stuart Jack Mattana, though most people call me Stu. I post using my initials, SJM.

Beav has been my nickname since kindergarten, though no one can remember exactly why it was given to me. And 99 is the year I graduated high school. I used this handle all the way through high school and college, so I just use it for most things out sentimental reasons.

And the BPT Champion title under my name represents my continued dominance in the Basement Pool Tour put on by Abel "The Mad Mexican" Ferrer.

I can scratch from almost any where..my friends have a habit of saying...wait for it,after most shots going more then two rails..in kind thou..most of the time I scratch
on purpose..keeps the game fun an in spirt of sharking..funny.

Beware the Internet Crazies

I first signed on here to get in touch with an old friend. I figured if I did not capitalize and just put the two names together my friend would recognize me but the Internet Crazies would not. ;)The avatar is my picture but I don't wear the glasses any more, again so the internet crazies will not recognize me.:p

Yeah, Gene Krupa...but Buddy Rich!

Not to sideline the thread, but an important point needs to be made here, since I have some inside info about this.

While Buddy Rich was the flashier (and more boisterous) of the two drummers, Krupa was quieter and technically superior. Sadly, the only videos of the "Rich vs. Krupa" drum battles that exist (late 1960s / early 1970s), were of when Krupa had already been diagnosed with leukemia, and -- given the leukemia drugs of the day -- it had slowed him down considerably. When I watch some of those videos, and compare the performance with what I have on 78-rpm vinyl, it's like night and day.

Back in those days, leukemia was a slow and sure death sentence -- unlike what that diagnosis is with today's medical technology.

RIP, Gene Krupa!

Back to our regularly-scheduled programming...

My name, Tramp Steamer, came from two sources, actually.
Tramp, was the pet name my Dad gave to my Mom right after he caught her at the 7-Eleven with the Mailman.
Steamer, comes from what a dog does on a cold morning when you first let him out.

I made my name up playing with a friend of mine whom I think has an overabundance of luck at times. He had just slopped in his 3rd ball in a rack of 9 ball and i tried telling him it was a bad shot / bullsh*t. Seemed kind of catchy at the time too.

CBR 900 RR Fireblade.

The Euro designation for a sportbike I owned in the 90's and was one of the first internet message boards I joined back then.

It has mostly just stuck because it's been available literally every place I've ever tried to get it since.

Every now and then someone will ask and the answer is yes , I still do in fact own at least one CBR900RR Fireblade. ;)

My usual forum name on other sites is the name I have had for years.
I decided on here to lay low if you will.

I did the same here. My usual name on at least a dozen forums has been "Battenkiller". It started on a fly fishing forum, and was selected because the Battenkill River in eastern NY was my favorite trout stream in the world. It was also a pun, a take on my penchant for taking a few small wild brook trout for breakfast every now and then.

My "catch-and-release" buddies/zealots gave me grief for this small transgression, and when the river went into serious decline they mentioned that guys like me were the cause (not true, but I won't go into all the here). Finally, I replied, "Yeah, blame it all on me. I'm "The Battenkiller".

Oh... Sloppy Pockets? I had been quite content lurking while staying out of the fray here until last February when I finally got my own table. I had some questions about cues and such, so I joined up in order to post them. I was pretty rusty after not playing for many years, and I was pocketing more balls with the help of slop than I was with skill. I thought quick and put in my current screen name. Nobody was using it, so there you go.

I swear I never intended for any double entendre when I selected it, but a few folks have taken it as having additional, uh, sexual connotations. "Ah, yes", I thought, but stuck with it. After all, I am a world class male slut, even at my advanced age. Might as well let the world know about it.

Scaramouche was written in 1921 by an Italian, Rafael Sabatini.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scaramouche_(novel)

The opening line of the novel is my signature line:

"He was born with a gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad."

It was Sabatini's epitaph, and I'd like it too, since it encapsulates my attitude and view of the world.

Lest you think I am some high-highfaluting intellectual, I encountered the line in a Mechanix Illustrated editorial eulogizing Tom McCahill's black Labrador, Joe, the trunk tester of the team. In contrast, McCahill's death was never acknowledged by the magazine.

I'm Canadian, that explains the avatar, and he is pissed off at Canadian politicians.

I don't know why i chose mine, although I had just returned from living in Thailand for a few years, so that had a bearing. I don't like it and would change it if I could be bothered. Brahms' Third Racket is much more 'me', although I could equally go for Hello, Mr Big Shot.

As for the avatar, naji took exception to Withnail's teeth in my previous one, and asked for some lovely ladies instead, so I chose the most accurate representation of the British female I could find, namely Viz's Fat Slags.

The nickname RunoutJJ (JJ are my initials) came about one night at league in SF back in 2001. I was leading the 8 Ball league as the top shooter and I was pitted against my arch rival who was a monster and nipping at my heals for my title.

I won the lag by a hair and broke and ran out the race to 4 set!! After we shook hands he smiled and said.. "Well I guess you can't fade runoutJJ can ya??" "Nice run buddy!" :-) So I was know as RunoutJJ from that moment on. Most people call me Jesse James nowadays which I really like and fancy myself as a cold blooded killer on the table... Even though as of late that isnt the case :-(

As for the Avatar the two guys are know as Mark and Jeremy from the british show PEEP SHOW. Kinda like a british style seinfield where everybody is somehow getting screwed and being completely ridiculous about handling delicate situations. Its very funny and highly recommended :-)

Peep Show

Super Hans was my username on a now defunct footy site a long time ago.

Back in 1986 I started my first band, which got to be popular back in Siberia, where I from. If I translate the name of the band into English it would be Miller's Hut. Since I wrote all the music and lyrics, everyone started calling me Mad Miller and the name stuck.

My username is my last name. My avatar is a picture of me. Up until a few days ago, my avatar was the flag of the region I call home.

Maxx was our old dog, a Australian cattle dog and Australian Shepherd mix.

I switch up the avatar, but it is currently the engine of my 58 pan.
