Ob? Predator? Tiger? And why I'm looking too just buy a shaft for my custom what's ur view? What's the best feel ect?

Gulyassy SPTX

Mike Gulyassy SPTX ("Strickland Pro Taper Extreme) shaft. LD qualities in a stock/solid shaft. It's the shaft Earl has been using for a while (I think he's still using it, not sure). Longest pro taper on the market, great balance between stiffness and action. Best shaft I've ever played with.

That

is a subjective question, and will have subjective answers depending on the experience each poster has with certain shafts. You will not get one perfect answer, just guesses.

Honestly the one that works best for you.

I like my SS360 better than any other shaft I've used. Though Joss standard turned down to 12.75mm is a very close 2nd.

Not sure how these hold up. There are too many videos on you tube of them breaking. Earl misses a shot, smashes his cue on the ground and....bam, broken shaft. I'd look for one that doesn't have a ton of videos of them breaking...

314 is stiff hit but im not used to ld so i didnt really like it. best thing you can do is try one. i know its a pricey idea but get one try it for a month and if you dont like it trade with someone that has a tiger or another shaft youre interested in

If you have a nice custom, it probably already has a nice shaft. I personally LOVE my stock Keith Kustom shafts. I wouldn't play with anything else.

It's all personal preference. Hit a couple and buy what you like. I don't generally like mixing and matching shafts and butts.

best,

Justin

Where have you seen him break one? The videos on YouTube are of him breaking CueTech shafts. There are plenty of videos of him slapping the table and floor with his Gulyassy shaft with no problem whatsoever...I've had mine over a year with no problems, wouldn't trade it for anything.

I'm totally kidding. There are many videos of him having a hissy fit and breaking his cue. That's all I meant. And you are probably right about them being cuetech.

Just pull the trigger on something already Prodigy :grin-square:

This is a very subjective question, meaning that the "best shaft" is up to the interpretation of each person.

You'll find some good reasons for why some players prefer or like some shafts over others, but ultimately it's up to what you like. I use a 314-2 and started out with the Lucasi Hybrid Zero Flexpoint. I'm actually looking into the OB Classics right now.

Well I'm just trying too find something idk I don't like my shaft it might be the tip its got super soft on it maybe a hard would make me likke it better idk but I'm trying too fig out if I wanna try one of those shafts

Totally up to you Prod. No one can tell you what is good for you.

One of my best shafts is on an EBay cue under 100 that I re worked.
The pool hall owner gave me a dark colored shaft with sugar marks all over with a European taper. Ugly and hits stiff.

I doubt anyone would like this shaft but to me, its great. Thats part of the fun, you experiment until you find the exact dimensions that work for you.

If you get something that you don't like, put it in the Sale forum and start over. Yes it can be costly, no one ever said this hobby is cheap.

Just my nickels worth as we don't have pennies in Canada any longer.
