I posted an old (1925) billiard cartoon in the funny picture thread earlier today and it got me thinking about oldies but goodies. I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Here is an advertisement that was originally run in the April 1949 issue of Popular Mechanics. It is also framed and on one of my game room walls.

I don't know about Mosconi, but in Hoppe's bio I'm thinking he never smoked, said he thought the nicotine would mess with his nerves.

Well since we have written evidence to the contrary I guess we can take our pick ...

1. His bio was "sanitized" to exclude his smoking.

2. He didn't smoke but for a fee from RJ Reynolds Tobacco he would make believe he did.
