Got an email from CSI cuesports news with the following announcement and link;
"Texas Bumps™, www.texasbumps.com, is a new, fun and exciting pool game where professionals and amateurs can compete on a fairly even playing field without the use of handicaps. That’s right, the “Average Joe can Beat the Pro™” without using handicaps. It may seem hard to believe, but I have seen Texas Bumps™ in action with my own eyes and actually watched the “Average Joe beat the Pro!” It’s designed for all skill levels - professionals, amateurs and recreational pool players alike. Texas Bumps™ is a game where competitors, friends, families and even enemies, can all come together for an enjoyable day, afternoon or evening of billiards and have fun. The way pool is supposed to be! " It went on to say;
"We are pleased to announce that we will be holding “Texas Bumps™ National Tournament/s” at the 2013 BCAPL National Championships in Las Vegas, July 17-27, 2013. The entry fee for the Texas Bumps™ Tournament is only $20 and there will be at least $5,000 total cash paid out, “Guaranteed” by us, Texas BumpsTM. In addition to the Texas Bumps™ National Tournament, there will also be free “Juniors Contests” with prizes and scholarship money being awarded. Please visit our website, www.texasbumps.com for all the tournament details."
And finally,
"Texas Bumps™ game sets are available for purchase at www.texasbumps.com. The game sets include a $20 voucher for free entry into the Texas Bumps™ Tournament in Las Vegas, along with a free training DVD by professional billiards player and instructor, Joe Tucker, entitled “Guaranteed Improvements.”"
I watched the video and other than an obvious opportunity to sell game sets I just don't get it. If someone can explain what I am missing, enlighten me please. (by way of full disclosure I should mention that my favorite game, to play and to watch, is 8 ball so that could be a factor.)
