shipping... would u ship a black boar worth 7.5k via ur local post office???

lol... so who's fault is it??? mine ??? do you understand English ??? I requested in many emails... express only! if you had problems in shipping cause u don't have a company ... then u made a mistake and you should have told me and let me make the call!! I have many german friends that have compAnies and would have been easy to ship the cue in a proper way! I don't care if the packet is bullet proof! cause I doubt it will ever arrive! who must I complain to?? i was suppose to be informed of that nonsence n given the choice to make my own decision!

n it Bolocks that u need a company to ship express... anybody in the world can from anywhere to anywhere.....

that's not ur 2 cents...
it's ur 7500k + 2 cents

The finger pointing is alive and well.

This is why I always ship full insurance, even if I lose money. Silver, gold, rubies and unicorn wings.

Big cue = full insurance. The shipper is responsible UNLESS he gets in writing from the buyer to ship cheap.

This will be a thread to follow in the coming days boys and girls...

just curious guys... I've recently purchased an extremely expensive cue from a well known member from az...in several emails I clearly stated Express... n only dhl or FedEx ...well cue was shipped dhl parsel... lol.... can't even track it.... nobody knows where it is... not even DHL....
I ship my cases I sell all over the world via dhl express... 2-3 day delivery guaranteed.... what the hell did I get into???

it certainly must have a bar code .........with a number. USPS has tracking available on their parcels.

If the seller could not ship the way the buyer wanted, do to whatever reason, then
the deal should of been a no go period. The buyer is now with the burden of waiting
and hoping, while his money is gone.
If the cue is lost and the buyer has emails that state that the agreement was
to ship the way he is saying, then I would feel its up to the seller to make things right.

Now,I know people will say the buyer didn't want full insurance but thats here nor
there if the parcel was shipped wrong in the first place. For that kind of money, why
take the chance?

I've had a 100% success rate using USPS Priority Mail service DOMESTICALLY! You can add insurance (and I do) and you have Delivery Confirmation with a Tracking Number. And you can ship a cue across country in 2-3 days for under $20! The U.S. Postal Service is still damn good, no matter what anyone says.

I just had a comparatively amazing thing happen using USPS. I sent a cue (older classic JW) to Shanghai using USPS First Class International Mail. I filled out the appropriate customs papers, took adequate insurance and sent it off. I had a tracking number and sent an e-mail to the buyer with all the information. This was on May 20th. Using UPS or Fedex would have cost a fortune. Using USPS it cost me just over $50. I told my buyer it should be in China in 8-10 days, but then it could easily take 2-3 weeks before it clears customs.

He sent me an e-mail yesterday (May 28th) telling me he got the cue and he loved it! Eight days to Shanghai from Los Angeles using the good old post office. How about that!

Better than me. I am waiting on a phone that was shipped on the 21st and it's in limbo somewhere according to the tracking #.. Hoping it shows up soon.

USPS Priority International is pretty much the way to go though.

black boar cues are heavy with ivory

i'll bet it's been CONFISCATED by CUSTOMS!!

Doesn't work that way...trust me...i've bought numerous cues with Ivory into China.
It's not absolute that it'd get confiscated, i've been lucky so far.

John, that's taking abit long considering you're in a coastal city with major airport.
Check with EMS, USPS transfers to EMS in China. Don't search as international parcel, just search as local parcel.

The fact of the matter is Fed X and UPS along with many other use the USPS for some of their packages. I do postal construction and I see their trucks there all the time

BINGO!!!
I work for usps and we are all one big company now.Fedex and Ups drop off every single day and we send our stuff thru there plains so its all intermingled now. When people start talking about doing away with usps now with there congress created problems they better realize 30% off fedex and ups revenue and 9 million jobs are at stake(paper mills, ink companys, advertisement firms, publishers, transportation companys...etc.

And Big tatoo is a good seller here so speaking from experience give this package 10 more days atleast before worrying..Believe me I have seen this from all shippers especially when customs is involved

I have send big Cues to China and they said 5 Days and it took 3 weeks about the long holding term on the Customs and the Buyer had it and the tracking says nothing to me, so what I can do.
Roger, have you think to show all here and the Custom not read sometimes;) you will never get the package, Internet never forget.

how do I know u sent it to me??? where is my name n adress...don't worry bout customs here... we are good friends... but funny enough why r u warning me I ain't getting it?? maybe u know something I dont

i know nothing...
you have a Pic with the org Document with your Address which was sticked outside the Package from the Post Office.
If you where in Europe the Cue will be in your Hands lastSaturday latest Monday, sometime my package from US are always express and I waiting most 3-4 weeks:frown:

I don't get it.

The tracking shows the package was mailed on the day the seller says it was. It took 2 days to leave Germany and the next scan will be when it enters the destination Country.

Yet the buyer is complaining the seller can't prove he shipped it? WTF ?

All this supposed controversy over a package that was mailed DHL parcel instead of DHL Express which the seller says was not available to him in Germany?

When it gets there does the buyer apologize or does he still go on and on ?

You guys that are suggesting that a package sent from Germany to Asia should have been sent USPS, need to think about that for a minute. Or maybe you are just responding to his "local post office" rant. I've shipped larger cues both domestically and Internationally with packages that started off in my local post office, so for me, the answer is yes.

For all the buyer's claims about how clear he was with his wishes, I'm still wondering how clear he was in communicating them to Ralf. The buyer seems intent on claiming that Ralf ignored his super-clear instructions when it seems to me that Ralf my never had understood them I didn't either, I thought it was either "DHL" or "FedEx Express"). Plus it seems the method Ralf used is working fine and provides tracking so what's the drama?

I know a thing two about shipping cues from Germany.

I prefer not to go into too much detail (Volturi can PM me if he wants) but I too would have used regular DHL for very good reasons.

I would never ever ship a valuable cue ground *or* without insurance....

So if the cue doesn't arrive (and hopefully it does) who will be out the money???...if I order something from Amazon...or buy a cue from someone...and it doesn't arrive, I would reverse the transaction and get my money back, and it would be up to the seller to deal with the non arrival...(it's up to the seller to get it delivered to the buyer)....

So...in the unlikely case that this cue doesn't make it to the buyer...will the seller return the buyer's money??? That's why there needs to be insurance, to cover the loss, just in case...with no insurance the seller is just taking a gamble, and at some point they gotta expect they might lose and be out the $$$....

I'm afraid you don't quite have a total handle on International shipping issues.

Many (maybe even most) Countries out of the US, have import tariffs or duties, that would, in many cases, close to double the final cost to the buyer. You can't value a cue for customs at $200 and then insure it for 7K. If you insure and declare is to 7K, the final cost to the buyer could be upwards to 10K or beyond. Plus, most cues of that value have ivory, the importation of ivory is banned by most Countries, so insuring and declaring that value is just asking for confiscation.

For these reasons, most BUYERS out of the US request that the seller undervalue the cue for customs and thus under insure it. It is the BUYERS request that this be done to save the BUYER money (and possibly circumvent their Countries import restrictions). Since the risk is taken at the BUYERS request to save the BUYER money, it is generally agreed that the BUYER is accepting all the risk of loss or breakage.

Amazon doesn't sell 7K ivory cues.

To answer your original question-no I wouldn't. I've shipped tons of cheap cues usps priority and they all went great. I've had one early 90s unplayed South West shipped to me, and it got stolen while in the possession of usps. They delivered an empty tube, clearly cut open, a week late with a tag that said "recvd without contents" from the last 2 stops. It was insured for the sales price, which is probably what tipped them off to steal it, but are you supposed to send it uninsured!? I've seen stuff that got run over by the truck. What if it actually gets misplaced? We jumped through every hoop, got treated like we were stealing, and finally got the sales price-less the shipping of course-as reimbursement. The 20th, or so trip to the PO the sarcastic lady said, "well, it looks like you might get your money." I said, "If I wanted the money, I would have just kept the money to begin with. I want my f-ing irreplaceable cue." I'm not alone, btw, if you go by the 'stolen cue' sticky in the 'wanted/for sale' forum. I'll try someone different next time. I hope you get your cue, and I'm still thinking you will.

I totally agree Kevin ,,,

n I did agree to the risks without a problem... but atleast grant the buyer the simple request of how it's to shipped by which company... simple as that...

still hope to get the cue...
frustrating is having spent the last 2 days chasing dhl express... dhl global forwarding ... dhl mail... pos indonesia... tiki express... jne express... n nobody knows where is this package...
the top 3 dhls I mentioned are all independent operating companies...
