What do you guys think of this cue?

Mcdermott G-508

Been playing pool for about 10 years and only used house cues so i decided to get a decent cue for myself. I personally really like it. It's a little on the light side since i like my cues around 21oz and this ones 19oz.

McDermott makes a quality cue. The appearance is personal preference. I never had one cause I'm Italian and couldn't deal with the shamrock. :D

I paid just under $600 for it. I really love this cue but is their better opinions in that price range?

If you've already paid for it then it doesnt really matter.
FWIW you could of had one built at that price. I have a nice McDermott but I only paid about 100 for it . They R great cues and if you like it then don't second guess yourself,
Especially at this stage of the game
Good luck and here's some green to go with your new cue

Thanks man i really appreciate it.

I think McDermott makes a good cue. If you are happy, than I am happy for you.

Looking online that cue is just barely north of 500 bucks on every site I looked on so I would say you might have over paid but if you bought it from a nice local billiards store than I fully support you helping out your local pool establishment.

Enjoy the new cue. Coming from house cues that thing should seem like a Rolls Royce...

You can always add weight to it. The main thing is it feels good to YOU. Johnnyt

I like my Mcdermot cue to because it hits well, I won ternaments with it,it shoots good, and I wont be trading it away.

If you like it, nothing else really matters. Just remember, it's the indian, not the arrow.

If you like it, that's what matters. AFAIK, all McDermotts have the option of adjusting the weight via a removable bolt under the bumper. Do a search for weight bolt on Seybert's or Ozone and switch it up if you want a heavier cue.

Ive never been a huge fan of MCD. That being said , they do make a solid product. You already bought it though so I don't now if any of our feedback is use-full =D

McDermott

Glad you are happy with your cue, thats all that really matters... There are other options in that price range, but that's all they are, options. McDermott makes a quality cue and has a great lifetime warranty with them (as long as you purchased from a McDermott dealer).. You can easily change out the weight bolt to make it heavier if you prefer. If you need a heavier weight bolt, just let me know and I'll send you one for free, just pay the shipping (about $1.69 for shipping)..

P. S. - McDermotts butt cap is sometimes a pain to remove, but the easiest way is to use both your thumbs and push it to the side til it pops up... If you need any help, let me know..

Rain-Man
