Southern Classic 9 Ball Update

After a truly painful day yesterday of not hearing anything about the matches, I was delighted to receive an email from the exceptional guys at NYC Grind. If you don't use their site, NYCGRIND.COM, you're missing a lot.

Sure enough, I got the status of the Southern Classic 9-ball entering Saturday. Nine players remain*, and the next round looks as follows:

Dennis Orcullo (0) vs Warren Kiamko (0)
Lee Vann Corteza (1) vs Jayson Shaw (1)
Wang Can (1) vs Niels Feijen (1)
Robb Saez (1) vs Carlo Biado (1)
Phil Burford (1) drew the bye

* number of losses in parentheses

Don't reckon we'll be able to follow the action today on the Southern Classic website, but you never know.

Thanks for sharing. I too was frustrated yesterday after following the Southern Classic link all week long to track friends and rooting interests.

Thanks for the update!

Greg Sullivan is always open to suggestions for improvements. This is one area that I am sure he will address at his next pool event.

Usually, AzB-ers on site post about what's happening, but there has been a lack of that. Maybe everybody is busy having fun, resulting in not enough time to post on this forum.

Is today the last day? I think it is. I wonder who will come out on top! :cool:

They need a feature that says 'who's left' on their site.

I watched the Feijen/Pagulayan match last night.
Alex got hit with the perfect storm.....Niels shot over 950 on the Accustats rating....
....and at 8-3 up, he missed the 3- ball and knocked the 9 in.
He is going to be tough to beat this trip.

and iirc, earlier Alex put a .951 on efren.

a few of these guys are shooting up in the stratosphere. :smile:

The website was fixed earlier this morning, all of the results from rounds 4 through 6 that were played yesterday while the site was down is now listed along with the schedule for round 8 which starts at 1 eastern. That round is the 9 guys left that was mentioned earlier in this thread.
 
Broke

We all know how much better top players play when they are on empty. With Dennis seemingly low on cash, he'll be even that tougher to beat. But, if he starts thinking about the money during play, all bets off.

Four Filippinos in the last six. Wow!
 
Biado up 5-3, looking a little more human this match than in his last streamed match.
