Believe me, I would like to come out of retirement for a little bit just to see if I still have it. I'm hoping to come out and play in a couple events, sooner than later.
We've had a couple bumps in the road. One of them is our new dog. Our dog gets car sick when he drives in the car, and we will not put him in a kennel. We've already experienced that. So when he gets to where he can drive, without getting sick, that's when it will be sooner.
Plus, the old lady is always stacked up with work, so it's hard for her to get away. She doesn't like me going by myself, understandably, but she's going to have to, sooner than later.
My target tournaments would be Greg Sullivan's events. I think they have the best chance of making some money, even if I don't do well in the tournaments. So those tournaments would be the ones that I focus in on. I like Mike Zuglan's Joss tournament at Turning Stone. I like Barry's U.S. Open 9-Ball, but as you know, all these players nowadays are very hard to beat, and you have to be in combat to be able to beat these guys. I'm not going to go anywhere just to make an appearance. I have to feel like I have a chance. I also want to hit California and Vegas to see what's happening. I've always liked those events. Mark Griffin has some good tournaments that I'd like to get in.
Plus, you have a good bank roll to go any event, especially if you want to stay a week or 10 days. I've never had a problem getting money to play with.
I think I'm going to test the waters in some local happenings before I get out there with all the sharks that are in the water, and there's quite a few. I hear Baltimore is starting to kick up again, so I might have to make a few appearances over there. It's pretty close to where I live.
I know I didn't play for a while before I went to Valley Forge last time, and I did quite well, played pretty good, came second to Shannon, busted two ring games, and came home with some cabbage. So it is possible. We'll just have to see.
