I purchased a 8 ft Gold Crown II for a steal. Original owner and only recovered once. It still had the og plastic skirts to hide the ball return. Table is in great shape but I have a few questions. The table is dissembled in my garage until i get it setup and recovered next week. The table was in a lake house so 2 of the feet bronze feet are very badly pitted and corroded due the the feet getting wet. Also all the t rail bolts and other nuts and bolts are rusted.
1. How can i clean up the feet. Two are really bad oxidized with green and black covering over half of it. Should I just lightly sand it down with some 500 or 800 grit to remove the majority of the corrosion then clear it to stop further damage. Any thing to clean them with? Also two of the threaded studs are seized in those 2 legs as well. I was thinking about getting some rust perpetrator to help loosen it up but i was unsure if this would hurt the finish on ever more on the feet. I know i need to get them lose to help level the table once its reassembled.
2. Since the table is disassembled should I remove all the t rail bolts and sand them down and spray paint them to stop them from rusting any more. I was thinking about spraying the black. SHould I do this for all the exposed bolts in the base and leg assembly as well.
3. The rubber looks to be in great shape. I carefully removed all the staples from all 6 rails in prep for the recovering. Can someone please explain to me the K55 vs superspeed rails. I tried reading on here but thier is jus some much info I wasnt sure what was right and wrong. Is there no direct replacement for the Brunswick monarch superspeed cushions that are on the table now? I cant just remove the current superspeed and install new rubber that will have the same reail height and depth? Or are people just converting over the Artemis k-55 because is a superior cushion?
4. Its the EI model. Whats that mean?
