On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

I don't need to say anything about you Chris to sell lessons. In fact it would even help you play even better.

I'll play either you or dee and i told Dee I would play him. We just talked about it a couple of days ago.

Right now i can't play any big money sets and I told Dee that. I'll play $100 or $200 sets. I just started feeling better from a little car wreck I had. I'm playing pretty good right now but then it will go in the tank for a few days.

I would love to play $100 sets to try and get into top form. I'm going to Beloit to play in the big one there on the 23rd. Then it's off to Minnesota to do a couple of Perfect Aim lessons for the reality show 14 days with Tor Lowry.

It's been about 4 months but it's been a long time healing. Brain can't take a beating like that when your 60 years old.

I'm trying to get down to 175. that will be the weight that I am supposed to be diabetic free. can't wait.

Feeling stronger and working out everyday but it keeps me kind of weak, losing the weight. But losing it is a must.

I just got back from the gym. Worked out for about 1 1/2 hours.

On second thought I told Dee that I didn't like playing anyone on the days I give lessons. He's a pretty nice guy. he understands. I'll be calling him for sure to play some sets. i told him that. But he knows the lessons come first.

I have about 7 lessons scheduled before I go to beloit. I was thinking about not even playing in any of the tournys here so I can focus on my playing and lessons. .

But believe me Chris, i don't need to even mention your name to give Perfect Aim lessons.

That's kind of a funny one:rolleyes:.

What's funny is more then 1 person told dee that you have
You said you will play me in this post

What bragging rights would I get ?
He is not a real good player
I played his speed when I was 17 and I started playing pool at 15
If he would play for the 1 k truck ill play on your stream and let you keep it all

Great idea Ray......

I know the behind the scenes money in Wi and mn would be off the chart.

I got a bunch of lessons this week but I could get ready for sure..........

I don't know if this would get as much attention as SVB VS Earl but I know a few people would be interested.

Chris has got to agree to still give me that big ass spot later for the cash if I get lucky and win this thing.

Just kidding. I don't want a spot. To be honest I can't remember ever getting one or taking it.

Usually when your giving a spot you got the nutz even giving the spot.

The only time I over spot is when i'm trying to get ready for a match like chris.

Ray, if you get this going we can still get a bet on the side.

Darn, I'm going to have to quit working out for a week and practice inbetween lessons.
Thanks for the offer ray. .

Maybe you played better back then i guess..............

Hmmmmm, this sounds like a match made for PPV.

I think it would be exciting if it were four races to 7, 9 ball on the bar box.

What do the rest of you think?

I love playing and watching BB pool but in this case they need to play on a 9' table. You don't need perfect aim to play on a BB. Johnnyt

Actually, I think you need Perfect Aim more on a bar table than you do on a 9 footer. That's just been my experience in moving back and forth between the two. Maybe it's different for others.

I don't know how you can say that with a 9' table 3' more than a BB. Unless you're Buddy Hall or one of the other top position players you are going to have a lot more over 6' shots. I know a lot of making balls is from good fundamentals but you can get away with not being exact much more on a BB. Johnnyt

Yes, the pockets are generally more generous on a bar box and the shots are shorter but you wind up with more severe angles on bar tables and that makes Perfect Aim even more important on the bar box in my opinion.

Great lesson Today............

Headed north about 50 miles of Columbus and as usual Perfect Aim was a perfect fit.

Had a player that was right handed and left eye dominant and was almost always lining up wrong.

What a difference this made when the right adjustments were made.

Also did some stroke work. Had a real fast back stroke. A real killer if you want to be consistent.

Eye patterns again were huge. i never realized how often many league players need work with this.

About 5 months ago when I was in Indianapolis i started teaching my breaking technique. it seems to work for everyone so far and gives them so much more power and accuracy. The break is one of the most important shots in pool. If you can't break well it's tough to win.

This player didn't want to advertise his name so i will keep it off the thread.

I think he might want to sneak up on some of his opponents and for sure he can now.

The biggest thing though is at the end of the day, whether i give one, 2 or 3 lessons I made a huge difference in our pool world.

That's as good as it gets.

I went over to Players to play a little bit. Been awhile since i played on anything tight. It was pretty tough. Tough to stay in stroke and give lessons everyday.

To play in a tournament or play any action it is really obvious that i have to live on the table for a few days. I guess it's always been like that. Just even more so now than ever now that I'm 60 years old. felt pretty helpless tonight. I'll get back there though.

One man a van and the road.........

The sides on most 9 footers are HUGE!!!!!! ANY barbox player can EASILY pot in the side of a 9 footer.

The sides on barboxes are TINY!!!!! NO big table player has a chance at those sides.

Your turn,

Jeff Livingston

Corner pockets. You don't have any 6 1/2' to 8 1/2' shots on a 6' table. Shoot 25 8 1/2' shots and then shoot 25 5 1/2' shots and see which shot you make more of. Johnnyt

You don't have 15 balls in a tiny area to shoot around.

Try shooting some 4 foot shots with 14 other balls in the way.

Your side pockets are ONE INCH BIGGER than mine. Piece o' cake!

My side pockets are 4" on my Valley...same as the corners. I had the rails made by Ridgeback Rails. But never mind. Sometimes it's like talking to a wall on this forum. Have a good one. Johnnyt

A 9 foot shooter couldn't hit a wall on a barbox.

Your turn....don't leave....we're just starting to have fun fun fun...

I have a 9' Diamond in my basement but play league on bar boxes. It's not even remotely close. Aiming and pocketing balls is much, much easier on the valley bar boxes. With the Diamond, you have the added distance and far deeper shelves. Another thing that is often overlooked with the bigger table is how often you have to stretch for a shot, use an extension or bridge. Big difference.
